Tea Party

This is about the people. It's a lot bigger than any charismatic guy with a teleprompter. America is ready for another revolution. We need a commander-in-chief, not a professor of law standing at the lectern.

This isn't about money; this isn't about a title. I will live, I will die for the people of America. Whatever I can do to help. This movement is the future of politics in America.

Put your faith in ideas. I caution against allowing this movement to be defined by one leader or operation. This is about the people.

You'll show the American people that you're full of shit and hijacked an enraged group of people for your own political ends. Now STFU and go back to Alaska, Bitch.

Give me a quote from President Obama, since he has been in office, that was a zinger or a hostile sound bite!

:palm:

see any one of his speeches for the past week and half....actually, since you seem to have watched obama and republicans in their Q & A session, you have your proof

your obtuseness shows that you're actually an extreme partisan, obama said he wanted to stop the attacks etc...and yet in every speech he has attacked republicans....

A fired-up Barack Obama ditched his TelePrompter to rally House Democrats and rip Republican opponents of his recovery package Thursday night – at one point openly mocking the GOP for failing to follow through on promises of bipartisanship.

Twice recently, President Barack Obama has slammed congressional Republicans for voting against his economic stimulus bill in February 2009 but later touting provisions of the bill that benefited their own constituents.

BALTIMORE - In a remarkably sharp face-to-face confrontation, President Barack Obama chastised Republican lawmakers Friday for opposing him on taxes, health care and the economic stimulus, while they accused him in turn of brushing off their ideas and driving up the national debt.

Addressing a gathering of Senate Democrats, Obama promised to "call (Republicans) out when (Democrats) extend a hand and get a fist in return."

Several Democrats facing tough election fights this November were given time to ask the president questions on high-profile issues such as trade and deficit reduction. Much of the president's time, however, was used to lash out at GOP tactics.

Senate Republicans, he said, have tried to employ the filibuster more over the past year than in all of the 1950s and 1960s combined. The GOP's strategy has been "20 years of obstruction packed into one," he said.

"If you want to govern, you can't just say no," he argued. "It can't be about just scoring points." The filibuster, he added, only works as intended if there is a "genuine spirit of compromise."

So the problem here you've got is an institution that increasingly is not adapted to the demands of a hugely competitive 21st century economy. I think the Senate in particular, the challenge that I gave to Republicans and I will continue to issue to Republicans is if you want to govern then you can't just say no. It can't just be about scoring points. There are multiple examples during the course of this year in which that's been the case.

i seriously can't believe you're such a partisan that you haven't seen obama attackign republicans at every speech or comment gathering in the past couple of weeks....he has made the above comments in about 5 different occasions....

Obama is going to have to be a partisan. You've gotta fight fire with fire. The Republicans have been fucking pyromaniacs for the past year, and the Democrats have sat by and let them walk all over them. They are temper-tantrum throwing children. We've got to say no sometimes.

The Republican strategy from the outset has been to refuse to cooperate with the Democrats on anything so that they can say the Democrats are "ramming thing through". They hate America and want it destroyed.

he legitimately attacked republicans for being the party of "no" and for abusing the filibuster unlike in any other congress in modern history. do you dispute that?

and as an aside, it would appear that, in my absence, the righties have gotten together for a nonstop positive rep circle jerk. how quaint! ;)

Oh, my lord - on what planet is that considered an "attack"?

Someone hasn't been following Washington for very long.

THose are not spitefull jabs, they are a description of what is happening and what needs to be changed. Its one thing to critizise and offer improvements... its another to jab.
