Are Republcians against hope and change?

the election right after 9/11 when everyone's fear and paranoia was being stoked by Team Bush?

I was just playing USC Jr.'s game back at him. Bush and the GOP were riding off of massively high approval ratings that year, making 2002 a bizarre and uncharacteristic mid-term election.

LOL

and no dems were talking about it, nor were they talking about iraq

hacks are funny!

lots of dems were talking about it... but lots of dems were not banging the war drums. As we have shown before, yurtie... a majority of democrats in congress voted against the use of force resolution whereas the republicans were nearly unanimous in support of it. President Bush himself stated that our ONLY mission in invading Iraq was to disarm Saddam... something MOST democrats thought was ill advised.... and lo and behold, soon after kicking the UN inspectors OUT of Iraq and invading, we discovered that there WERE no WMDs that we needed to disarm Saddam of. ooops.

It DID work well at the time as a Rovian scare tactic to keep voters from voting for democrats. Well done.

Ancient history...The Iraqi War Authorization could not have passed without Democratic support...

And as we have shown before, a number of Democrats voted FOR the WAR RESOLUTION, otherwise there would have been no war.....so most wasn't enough was it....the most prominent Democrats voted for war....\

And they were banging the war drums loud and clear if you'd open your ears...just because the particular word 'invasion' was not uttered is irrelevant...

All the spin in the world won't change history...

But these next few months will be more than fun watching the Libs put there spin on things, LOL

can you fucking READ? I NEVER said that there was not some degree of democratic support for the resolution. I said, quite accurately, that the republicans overwhelmingly voted FOR the measure and a MAJORITY OF DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS VOTED AGAINST IT.

I always think the rush to give Dems "credit" is hilarious. It speaks volumes about how posters like bravo feel about the decision to invade at this point.

If Iraq had been some monumental success, that didn't cost incomprehensible amounts of blood & treasure, the narrative we'd be hearing would be more in line with Bush the unwavering leader, who pushed into Iraq despite fierce Democratic opposition and practically single-handedly changed history.

Instead, we get "Dems voted for it too!"

The 20-something Democratic senators and 80-something Dem representatives who authorized Bush’s fiasco, have either been voted out or apologized for their vote and/or admitted the Iraq war as a blunder of epic proportions. Two of the three top Dem leaders in DC were against your war from the beginning- Pelosi and Obama. Probably 90% of the rank and file registered democrats in the country were against your war from the get go. I never met a liberal on a message board who was ever in favor of your war.

Given your penchant for sharing credit for your war with a few score of democrats in congress, have you taken their lead and apologized for being an Iraq war cheerleader yourself, or admitted your war was a massive blunder?

You probably haven’t, unless you want to take this opportunity to apologize for your war. History’s harshest judgment, and probably the lowest rungs in hell, are reserved for those war cheerleaders who have never admitted their error or taken responsibility for the oceans of blood on their hands.

I disagree, many of the people want healthcare in the form proposed by President Obama's friends.

What the American people do not want is more of this win-loose mentality that the parties are promoting. Lets get ALL of the POLITITIANS to work together in a public forum to come up with some good legislation.
You can disagree if you want, but polling data suggests otherwise. Right now 58% oppose of ObamaCare.

So why would Republicans want to work with Democrats on something like that?

Well, now that was much more mature than calling me sissy boy!

Of course, what you provided was just one man's vague rhetoric regarding what he'd like to see happen and in now way indicative of how a majority of conservatives feel. But it's a start.
Actually, its the policy position of the leading conservative think-tank. Many more plans are presented on individual elected officials web sites that have all been ignored. Sissy boy. :pke:

So now people's natural reaction to a homeland attack is Carl Rove's doing. It sounds like your into that conspiracy theory bullshit. Did Rove take down the towers?
