I don't understand your remark (above) ? Something to do with Walz being excommunicated from the Catholic Church for his support of more liberal abortion laws, is it? I didn't know that Tampon -Tim was a Catholic ?
The point I was making is that whether or not an American citizen is a Catholic or, say, a Protestant of some denomination, or an atheist or an agnostic; if s/he is normal, reasonable, civil adult who is able to function competently in mainstream society, then the fact that infanticide is legal in Minnesota will appall his moral conscience.
Moral conscience is the little silent "voice" in your head that tells when something in right/good or wrong/bad in moral situation. For instance if I see a neighbour mercilessly thrashing his small, pet, dog with a whip or mistreating it in some other extremely cruel manner, my moral conscience will instantly tells me that what my neighbour is doing is wrong/bad and ought be stopped as quickly as possible, etc.
The average, civilised, rational American would be, I believe, morally outraged by the existence of a state (Minnesota) abortion law that make it legal for baby who is "born live" following a BOTCHED abortion to be placed in a crib, etc; and intentlonally left to die by being deprived of any life-sustaining medical care . That the mother of such of child could consent to this horrific murder of her own child does my head in. Just the though of it utterly shocks my moral conscience, which tells me that this act is evil (profoundly morally bad). Likewise the surgical termination of a pregnancy at 7, 8 or 9 months. Ask yourself if you would take up an offer the personally watch an abortionist tear an 8 -month - old foetus to pieces with his scalpel and surgical pliers and clamps. The physical GORE would be horrible to witness, but what is "beyond the pale" is that it extinguishing the life of a human being, a life that had infinite potentials, and was something "sacred" in its own right.
If you are a Christian you understand that your (moral) conscience is kind of like the voice of God , and it is usually to to warn you NOT to perform a particular act or behaviour (because it is wrongful and breaks the law/s God has set for how human should /ought behave in those situation where there is a right and a wrong thing to do/way to behave.
Finally, in my opinion a mother who consents to infanticide and the abortionist who intentionally and deliberately allows the "born alive" baby from a botched abortion are both evil human beings. Likewise women who arrange to have a healthy foetus they are carrying surgically aborted in the last trimester of pregnancy, and the abortionist who agrees to "eliminate" such a foetus are both (morally) evil person.
The word "EVIL" interestingly comes from the old Anglo Saxon word "EYFEL" For the old Anglo-Saxons, "EYFEL" meant "BEYOND", an in beyond the wooden fence barriers the farmers build around their land, or more generally speaking beyond some finite limit, like beyond the official boundaries of a football pitch. The word EVIL that we still use today was derived from "EYFEL" in the sense that an evil act or behaviour is beyond the limits of normal human reason. For example, the horrific torture and murder and cannibalism of victims by a serial killer like Jeffrey Dahmer is impossible for ordinary people to understand, they are unable to know what his reasons were for committing the unspeakable acts that he did When a person asks "What drove Dahmer to do what he did"? What were the reasons he decided to do what he did?" Why did he commit such appalling crimes" ? He or she cannot find any rational purpose - any cogent reason - for Jeffrey Dahmer doing what he did; and if there was a reason then it is "EYFEL" - BEYOND the limits,, BEYOND the pale of normal human understanding. Or in modern-day English, it is EVIL.
That a woman would intentionally allow her baby who was "born alive" after surviving a botched abortion to be left to slowly die for want of medical care is something I cannot understand using my reason. I simply cannot comprehend how a mother could do this. It is BEYOND ("eyfel" my ken, so I call it evil. The same thing goes for abortions performed in the final trimester of pregnancy, how a woman could choose to do this is BEYOND me; it is "Eyfel" or in today's English, "Evil."
If we grant that America is still a nation whose dominant culture is Western culture and its legal system is still mostly based on upholding the precepts of Judeo-Christian moral law, why isn't Tim Walz (the current, DEMOCRAT Vice Presidential candidate) called to account for the radical, new, state abortion laws he supported as GOVERNOR of Minnesota in the 2023, omnibus Health Bill that was passed; namely, the legalisation of infanticide (as defined above) and the legalisation of abortion from conception, up to and including, the 9th month of pregnancy. Also, and finally, why has Walz not be called to account for lying about this legislation on national television.
