When I lived in San Diego, I talked to ex-military missing limbs every week. Quite a few were homeless, and none of them could make it through the conversation without crying. They joined the military for money but now they're missing a leg and sleeping on the streets.
I am more familiar with people who thought that they were doing the right thing fighting for America, but now know that they were betrayed, that this was not serving America.....and now get to watch as illegals get more money and services than military vets on the streets.
Once they got to Iraq, they realized the war was for Halliburton's stock price. Halliburton had contracts to do everything. Muslim fighters came from everywhere to kill American invaders. That was 22 years ago, so I can't wait to see how many US troops are willing to invade Iran.
It was more because the Zionist Bastards who have captured our government always want to kill more Arabs and Persians in the region.....they score this as winning.
Many went into the service with few options. We do not always have wars and some thought they could get training that would help them in civilian life. There are lots of reasons to serve.
Some in combat came back with mental and drug problems. They need the kind of help we do not want to pay for. Wars leave scars.
Illegals do not get more money and services than ex-GIs.

Then post the studies. My bet is they use self-reporting and veterans beyond those actually still in the military. I know lots of homeless studies use self-reporting and when you parse through them most of the supposedly homeless "veterans" are not veterans. They claimed to be perceiving they'd get something from doing so.
