I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border. In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million. Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.

Mexico backed down, making a fool of Shumer’s doom and gloom yesterday about the price of Corona and guacamole for the Super Bowl. Canada’s backing down. Honestly if there’s any more winning
 
Got to love it, like Trump was ever after a border deal with Canada

Reality is more likely Trump saw the reaction to his tariff idiocy and talked Canada into announcing a new border program which either was already on Canada’s agenda or is a commitment but not actual proposal, Trump is big on boasting the commitments

Still got to wonder, what does the rest of the world think after watching Trump dump on America’s oldest and most loyal ally, wouldn’t be surprised if even Mexico and Canada start listening to what China has to offer

Trump got played.

The 1.3 billion dollar border bill was passed by the Canadian parliament last year, on Biden's watch.

Trudeau says in his tweet 10k Canadian troops are already on the border, and have been. They are not redeploying large numbers of soldiers to the border. They're already there.

Trump got spooked at the economic damage his trade war would cause the USA, and backtracked on his threats.


Trump probably was stupid enough to think Trudeau was actually offering him brand new major concessions.
