Like you we rent AirBnBs or VRBOs with kitchens when we travel, or rent RVs with kitchens. It's much healthier, as well as saving you money for actual experiences, to fix some of your own meals at "home." When I went to Maine with my middle daughter last Sept., we rented an AirBnB house on the beach at Old Orchard Beach, Maine. We ate out plenty but also enjoyed cooking fresh seafood together that we scored locally. It was lovely! Eat a fresh supper then watch the moon rise over the ocean at the beach.

They went on an insane attack because I had breakfast at a resort? I’m still not sure what that was about…. But it illustrates the point of this thread for sure.

They imagine that all people wish to travel to Mar-A-Lago where they can be served hand and foot and not have to lift a finger. Where they can be rude to the staff.

Wasn't that NUTS? They spent an entire Sunday morning ranting and snarking about your vacation and what you had for breakfast. Some ppl really need to download a life.

They couldn’t imagine it was possible to make your own breakfast at a resort, thought somehow they caught me lying, I guess…

It was hilarious, and perfect for the point of this thread.

I’m back to work today. I only live a few miles from the “resort”.

I'm genuinely happy for anybody enjoying the kind of holiday/vacation that they most enjoy.
Why wouldn't I be?
So please don't get me wrong.

My only question is this:

If you have to drive yourself....
make your own bed....
prepare your own food.....
entertain yourself rather than be entertained.......

from WHAT is it a holiday?

Again, just asking.

My sister has a time share in Kissamee, it’s also a resort as well. We vacation there and cook all our meals, although there are a couple of great restaurants on the property!
We prefer cooking our own meals! They are less fat and sugar, things old people have to watch 🤣
