Don't look at the market; look at Greenland.
During the last months of the campaign DJT sent his son and other groups there to pretty much campaign for this too. I don't know if they are that angry at Denmark that they'd go for becoming a state of the United States... But if he pulls that off it would be the largest state with the least population ever. lol
That there are so few people to pay off AND if it is true that they feel like Denmark has not been responsive over a long period of time this gambit sounds like a winner to me.
The other thing though is if Trump is going to go all in with self determination here, which is outlined in the UN charter, then he pretty much has to go with it in Ukraine.....not only with the five oblasts Russia already has....but it looks like Russia wants to expand that to Odessa and other places....that the peace settlement will include that multiple regions will have referendums and will become Russia if they want to.
