I could see secularist. Atheist? No. I don't see anything Trump has done as openly rejecting a god or gods or religions that follow one. On the other hand, I can see his disinterest in religion. That makes him secular. Your example backs that.
I don't think of Trump as a very religious man but I do think his near death experience has changed him some and he will do what he can to make sure others can follow the God of their choosing.
