Fear of Atheism

But that surely isn't your "beef" with conflating one with the other is it?

Most people who complain about "organized religion" seem to be complaining about a belief system that is not to their liking. I think most people worship a God of their own making for the most part.

That's why some dislike "organized religion" because it creates a God that has definite features and since there's no way to prove even that God exists let alone what specific features he has it rankles many believers to think someone ELSE could dictate to them what God is like.

The real power of God is that He always believes exactly as we do and He always wants the exact same things we do. The same cannot be said for a God who is shared by many different people.
my complaint about organzed religion is it seems to get the scripture totally wrong and is very hostile to what words actually say.

masons are charged with being gatekeepers of organized religions, that's why they suck so much ass.

So you are reasonably certain that countless theologians over centuries missed the key messages and proper interpretation but you were able to figure it all out?

Does it ever give you pause to marvel at how amazing it is that you were able to see where countless millions failed?

What was your biggest discovery about God that all the theologians of the earth missed?

yes.

words mean things.

organized religions are power structures for fallen demons.

Atheists are repulsive. In the same way Jehovah's witnesses are - and for the exact same reason. Zealots who aggressively proselytize their faith. Fanatics who are shrill and demanding. Who wants to deal with that shit? Rude and obnoxious.

Most atheists that I know do not proselytize. They simply do not believe.

Sure, there are zealots. But even that is a much smaller number than the religious people who want laws passed based on their faith.

The problem with Atheism is the insane amount of faith that is required to absolutely declare that there is nothing beyond the physical world.

It's really a matter of arrogance. Smug declaration by the atheist that they are the most intelligent and powerful entity in the universe.

There is no insane amount of faith involved.

Atheists do not believe there is any higher power. I have never met one who wanted to convert people to atheism.

Even if the Nazis won the war, and Nazi propaganda convinced 98 percent of people that Jews were an existential threat to national security and to the gene pool, genocide would still be wrong for all time and all places.

That is precisely why the Nuremberg trials invoked objective morality.
There is no such thing as 'objective morality', NoName.
