Explain this then, Iran is enriching uranium to 60% purity, which is a significant step towards weapons-grade enrichment. This level is considered close to the 90% purity needed for nuclear weapons and allows for a relatively quick further enrichment to that level. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been monitoring Iran's nuclear program and has confirmed this enrichment activity. They also have the delivery systems as well. So why are they doing that if they don't intend to build warheads as well?

U.S. intelligence agencies, including the CIA, believe that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003 and has not resumed it.
 
Iran's Fordow nuclear facility is an underground uranium enrichment site built deep inside a mountain near Qom. It was originally a military facility before being converted into a nuclear site. The facility is heavily fortified and believed to be buried up to 80 meters deep.

Why is it 80 meters deep and why won't Iran allow inspections?

Why does it need to be heavily fortified if it's only for power production?

It will be a moot issue soon, it will be destroyed soon.
