TC, it is a fact that they separated the students (singled out) based on race to determine whether they were failing as a group. There is no debate on that. You acknowledge it, but strangely ignore it.
It should not have been done. I doubt the principal had any ill intent, but if he were white and say in the south I might be more skeptical concerning his intents. But I don't really care what his intentions were because this should not be tolerated. Otherwise, you are going to have to prove ill intent when a white southern principal decides to have separate proms or some such nonsense. Besides the discrimination issues, it's just a bad approach to individual student needs. A failing student is a failing student, regardless of how well others of their race are doing.

No, how else are we to check to see if the government is discriminating in hiring? But, unless you have forgotten again, I don't support hard quotas.
This is quite different. The students are not given a grade based on an interview and whether the interviewer had a gut feeling about them. That is often a basis for hiring. The students are graded based on objective criteria, which is something the EOE has tried to establish in government jobs and private sector ones.
Further, I argue for using the quotas like a budget where the stakeholders would have to explain variances. I assume the school has explanations for the variances in grades. If they did not that would certainly be another issue.

This is a bad idea and why it's racist against whites. Hiring whites now becomes something that opens a company up to scrutiny. the safe thing becomes to only hire whites as a last resort, on the advice of the legal department. That's racist.
I don't support AA being forced on private businesses and as far as I know it does not apply to many of them, just those contracting with the government, which should be far fewer anyway.

Really? Then please explain why people of the Jewish faith have such a hard time being accepted as "white". Technical and colloquial terminology don't always match equally.
If we are "all" categorized by race as you say, then the point Christie made earlier remains valid, that the allegation against Miss Black America as a sole racist offender is invalid, as the various "ethnic" beauty pageants would be all renamed "Miss White America", by your inference.
Clearly, they are not. Ask yourself this, when was the last time you noticed news coverage Americans of African/Haitain, Jamaican, Dominican, French, Spanish, etc., decent referred to as such WITHOUT being lumped together as "black" Americans?

When African Americans FAILED to pass tests for jobs...Teachers, Fireman, Police, College entrance, and many many jobs. What happened?
They changed the tests....they lowered the standards, they claimed the fuckin' tests were racist....as if one plus one was only two for whites....and a different answer for Blacks....so get a clue....when women failed the physical tests for fireman, they just excluded them from those requirements ....do you think they payed the women firefighters less....obviously not....

We agree that the principal's approach was wrong...and I dare say it doesn't matter what side of the Mason-Dixon line one is on to see that, or to be suspicious of his motives. But as the Board & State ruled, what he did was NOT with ill intentions, just a bad move that could and should have been handled differently.
Your comparison to the prom incident is erroneous, because in that incident there was INTENTIONAL bias on part of the principle, who personally saw nothing wrong with his actions despite (to my knowledge) no impending cause for alarm from the students themselves.

The test scores pointed towards a problem among a group of kids....all of whom were black. Thr principal's reaction was incorrect...I would have just set up tutoral programs and and sent letters to the kid's parents requesting mandatory attendance.....but the reaction was without intended malice towards white kids.
Like I said before, where was the protest from the School Board, the State, the PTA when this action by the principal was first introduced? Are they slow to catch on, or just having an axe to grind and waited for an opportunity to grind it? When all is said and done the principal gave them the opportunity, and the lunch brunch is disbanded. Jokers like you have a "win"...whatever that means. Now maybe some better system will be implemented to address the problem.

The EEOC (sorry, EOE??? don't know why that came to mind) tries to set objective guidelines for jobs, skills, pay level and other such things.
Are you certain the "tests" were not racist? Sure 1+1=2 is not racist, but that does not mean some other question is not. Do you have a specific test or question that you believe they overturned as racist incorrectly? Any proof that they said you could not ask math questions?
Regardless, I am not defending every act of the government in this area. I have stated how I believe AA should work. That's my position, not some crap about 1+1!=2 if your black, which is just hyperbole anyway.

Just like all the ethnic groups you mentioned above....yet the history of Jewish discrimination in this country and around the world is evident....Jews were and to some degree STILL ARE treated as "non-white" despite their physical appearance (or in some cases, because of it).
I don't know where you've been all your life, but racial discrimination has been doing nicely in all parts of the world despite your or mine inability to understand it. Look at Rawanda, look at the British and the Irish, Look at the Polish, Russians,the Ukranians, etc. You and I may not be able to tell the difference, but they do, and have a history of killing each other over those differences.
