Nearly 12 million estimated to lose health coverage under Trump budget bill

You admitted to it! DON'T TRY TO DENY YOUR OWN POSTS!!

Yes you did! DON'T TRY TO DENY YOUR OWN POSTS!!

Yes you do. DON'T TRY TO DENY YOUR OWN POSTS!!

Go learn what 'fact' means. It does NOT mean 'Universal Truth'. Buzzword fallacy.

Just as an FYI, you must be confusing me with someone else. I did none of that. I especially did not say I couldn't afford healthcare. I have had the same healthcare for years (well before my retirement).

So have you found proof of your accusations? Or have you figured out you were spewing lies?

Since you claim to be paying so much attention to my posts, maybe you have noticed my mentioning my time in the US Navy?

Why would I say I cannot afford healthcare when I have been eligible for VA Medical since 1984?

What's the upside of keeping EdwinA (for asshole?)
and Milquetoast Macaw (Into the Night)
around?

They vomit their drivel all over the forum,
but making a mess is the sum and total of their "contribution."

One can have fun shitting on the assholes trying to make an inane point for the fascist side
but these assclowns aren't even good for that.
They're only good for wasting bandwidth.

I suspect that revealing their serious intellectual deficiencies on JPP
is the absolute highlight of their lives,
but how is that our problem?
We need to keep them around for that?

The forum -- and the world -- is a much better place with those two idiots on your ignore list.

Medicaid is on the chopping block.

That means the elderly, disabled and low-income Americans will be without healthcare.

Are you suggesting the fix is for the elderly and disabled to get jobs?

(I think Jarod's post was sarcasm.)

The majority of elderly residents in America's nursing homes are having their sojourns covered by Medicaid. Where will they go if the funding is cut? Are we just going to dump them in parks and alleys? Are we going to require them to get jobs? I wonder what sort of job a dementia patient could do? *sigh*

Next problem -- most rural hospitals in America are at least partially funded by Medicaid. Rural areas, of course, tend to vote for (R)s. Won't they be surprised when their local community hospital closes its doors and they have to travel far to get urgent or emergent care?

The bullshit about undocumented migrants receiving Medicaid is very reminiscent of Reagan's "welfare queen" schtick. MAGATs are cool with cuts to this vital program because they stupidly believe that only lazy brown ppl, some of whom aren't even citizens, are receiving it.

It’s not a good look. I hope it’s well documented for the 2026 elections.

Funding is not being cut for those who are eligible...Requirements and regulations are simply being enforced...as they should be...
Do you know anyone who receives benefits and health care who have been taking advantage of the system for years? We all do...and that's why change is happening...

Why didn’t you report them? I don’t know anyone defrauding the government. So “we” all don’t know.

Indeed.

Medicaid fraud and improper payments are a significant concern, with estimates suggesting billions of dollars are lost annually due to fraud, waste, and errors. While it's difficult to pinpoint the exact amount, experts estimate that a substantial portion of Medicaid spending is affected by these issues.

Here's a breakdown of the key points:
  • Improper Payments:
The Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) program by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) estimates improper payments, which include both errors and potential fraud.

  • High Error Rates:
In fiscal year 2024, the overall improper payment rate for Medicaid was 5.09%, which translates to billions of dollars.

  • Factors Contributing to Errors:
A significant portion of improper payments are due to missing or insufficient documentation, rather than deliberate fraud.

  • Fraudulent Schemes:
While errors are a major factor, deliberate fraud, such as billing for services not rendered or kickbacks, also contributes to the problem.

  • Estimates of Fraud:
Some experts estimate that fraud accounts for a significant portion, potentially up to 20%, of government healthcare spending.

  • National Health Care Fraud Takedown:
Recent actions by the Department of Justice (DOJ) have resulted in numerous indictments and charges related to healthcare fraud, including Medicaid.

  • Consequences:
Medicaid fraud and improper payments can lead to wasted taxpayer money, reduced resources for beneficiaries, and increased costs for the healthcare system.
In conclusion, while the exact amount of fraud in Medicaid is difficult to quantify, it is a serious issue that requires ongoing attention and efforts to reduce both errors and deliberate fraud.

It is not the people who are cheating. It is the healthcare companies and durable goods manufacturers. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/nati...ts-324-defendants-charged-connection-over-146
A healthcare company in Florida stole billions from Medicare. Rick Scott ran the company. He was elected governor and then senator in Florida.
I reported one such company myself for repeatedly sending the wife knee, leg, and wrist braces she didn't order and trying to bill Medicare for them. I'd bet most people wouldn't have bothered and just tossed out the unnecessary "medical" devices since they didn't pay anything for them.
