Trump claimed he had deals with 200 countries. That is such a terrible lie. There are only 193. Trump has a staff that will do the homework he is too lazy to do. They will look it up for him. He just says shit and his staff has to find a way to defend his dumb shit. So the DOGE kids gave a list of countries that are on the planet and Trump pretended he had deals with them all. They did that badly. Many of those listed we have never traded with. Some do not do exports at all. One was an island with penguins on it.
I would have been very offended if Obama did something that badly. Trumpys do not care.

The Senate has to approve foreign trade agreements, and what Trump is crowing about doesn't have any details about implementation and enforcement. It's not a trade agreement, it's just an aspirational framework, like the nuclear agreement Trump signed with North Korea.

There have been a few put on and some of the things that they effect are going up already.
IF he doesn't flip flop again and actually puts his huge tariffs on on Aug first when they work through the supply chain the cost of most everything we buy will be going up.
Yes some exporters and countries will eat SOME of the tariffs but most of them will just raise their prices the percent of the tariffs and another percent or two to pad their bottom line and pass them on to the US consumer.
We will have to see what Trump does then wait for the supply chain to catch up and that is when the shit will hit the fan. And then maybe the MAGA will wake up when it starts to really hit them in their pocket book until then they will keep saying the left is crying the sky is falling.

The Financial Times buried this line at the end in their piece about the arrangement: “There is no hiding the fact the EU was rolled over by the Trump juggernaut, said one ambassador. ‘Trump worked out exactly where our pain threshold is.’” It’s the art of the deal.

We’ve known this for quite some time: the president is one step, and in some cases, multiple steps, ahead of his detractors, chiefly the media. They don’t get it, they never will, and he knows that. CNN’s Jeff Zeleny was forced to cough up the truth about the president’s approach to using tariffs, and it had to have killed him inside:

“He's been issuing many threats of tariffs, but they clearly have been working," said Zeleny.

There has been no economic Armageddon; prices have not spiked, and inflation remains lower than at any point under the Biden presidency.
