There is clearly a serious problem at the BLS, long before now

Ther BLS has botching the jobs numbers for awhile...long before the Trump Adm.

Obviously, a change was sorely needed :

BLS Has Lengthy History of Inaccuracies, Incompetence

  • Today, BLS had to revise down May and June jobs reports by a combined 258,000 jobs. These previous faulty jobs reports enabled the Federal Reserve to continue its disastrous policy of keeping interest rates high.
    • On June 6, The New York Times reported: “A solid jobs report for May has reinforced the Federal Reserve’s stance that it can take its time before restarting interest rate cuts.
    • On July 3, The New York Times reported that the June jobs report “fortifies the Federal Reserve’s case that it does not need to be in a hurry to lower borrowing costs.”
  • Last year, BLS revised down the benchmark payroll growth for the year ending in March 2024 by 818,000 jobs — the second-largest benchmark revision on record.
    • The Daily Caller: “Including monthly revisions, the Biden administration overstated the number of jobs in the U.S. economy by 1.18 million in the year through March, accounting for approximately 36% of the 3.24 million jobs initially claimed, according to data from the BLS calculated by the Daily Caller News Foundation”

  • In July 2024, BLS revised jobs added in May of that year down by 54,000 jobs, and the jobs added in April down by 57,000 jobs.
  • In April 2024, BLS revised the jobs added in February of that year down — then further revised the number down the following month.
  • In February 2024, BLS revised the jobs added in December of the prior year down by 43,000 jobs and the jobs added in January of that year down by 124,000 jobs.

"Never assume nefarious when incompetence is possible" does not work in dark ages as nasty as this one.

The numbers have long been fake created to drive narrative wars, and then later the numbers are quietly moved to something closer to the truth.

Your idiocy is a serious problem for you.

You don't even know why there are revisions.

It's because some employers are late reporting. They are not "inaccuracies."

People are tripping over themselves trying to defend Trump's dopey authoritarianism.
Over 800,000 revised down under Biden...the BLS is incompetent is why.

If people are doing their job And the system is properly functioning. why are they allowing employers to Continue to be so late with their reporting? Obvuously the system needs revised and improved...

They are a group of mathematicians accumulating data . They are not political. They gather data as they have in the past. That is why you can compare the direction labor is going. Trump does not like the results, so he will change it all. It will not be to achieve better accuracy. He will control what they put out. Even Fox understands. https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/why-does-labor-department-revise-jobs-reports-here-three-reasons You Trumpys are such simp[le people. Why can't you do a little research before you go full Trumpian/

 Only a month ago you were posting threads that treated BLS as the gold standard of labor data

Why do they "allow" it?

You think they have an enforcement mechanism - especially w/ all of the cuts Trump has done?

You're just spinning. There is nothing suspect about these #'s. As usual, when Trump doesn't get his way, everything is "rigged."

Cleary the methods of collecting the data needs to change.... Unless you or others think that accuracy isn't important.... And it looks like change is going to happen....

Why? Can you not understand that the value of their data is in doing things the same way? That means we can compare the trends in employment year to year. Clearly, it does not need to change.
Tell us how you see the accuracy improving. Is it by the huge slashes tio their budget that Trump proposes? Trumpys are so easily led down the wrong path.

Their job is to accurately report on the jobs created. If they did it accurately revisions wouldn't be need or very small at best.

So, you don't know anything about how that process works. And yet you're saying they're incompetent.

You don't have to defend everything Trump does, you know. This is actually one where I've seen more than a few conservatives raise an eyebrow. Doesn't it concern you that he thinks so many things are "rigged" against him? He sounds so paranoid to me.

What makes you think this report is accurate? It isn't like we don't have a long history of botched reports.

Oh I see. It's bad for Trump so it has to be accurate.

I gave you the info. It is being done as it always has. The value of the MLB reports is that you can compare jobs years after year. It may be esoteric to you, but that requires sticking with the same system.` Job reports are snapshots of a changing system of hiring and firing. At no time can it be exact.
Try and get it. It;'s value is in showing jobs month by month ,year by year and comparing them to other years which are on record. Changing the system trashes all the previous records. It makes job tracking and comparisons impossible.
