So the Smithsonian can’t show that slavery was bad?

in other words, historically inaccurate. An exhibit intended to show 'white people bad'. i.e. woke.
They are not equal. A couple of black slave owners is not the same as white plantation owners having 4 million slaves. White people beat, flogged, abused, and separated families ,selling their wives and children. Yes, white slavers were bad. Are you saying they were not? Are you saying a few black slave owners are equal to a slave industry? Don't wonder why the left laughs at the right. Logic and proportation are sloppy dead to the right,.

Is there an entire exhibit about Blacks that owned Black slaves like Marie Thérèse Coincoin?

Why yes, they do, of course, as that is part of history too...

AI Overview

Yes, some Smithsonian museums, particularly the National Museum of African American History and Culture, acknowledge and explore the complex history of Black people who owned slaves, alongside the broader narrative of slavery. This includes instances where free people of color in the antebellum South owned slaves, a historical fact that is often difficult to reconcile with the common understanding of slavery

Oh gee all knowing one you are wrong again the New York Founding Hospital sent orphans to the South. In fact Louisiana has an orphan train museum. My great great uncle was sent to South Carolina for adoption. He also had a younger brother with him but my family does not know who adopted him. The full story is the family immigrated from Ireland in 1843 one daughter died in transit on the ship. The parents both died in 1847 they are buried in a New York potters grave. Their 3 boys were put in an orphanage. They oldest eventually ran away and survived on the streets of New York. The other two were sent SOUTH on an orphan train. Eventually the oldest enlisted with the North and the second oldest enlisted in the Confederacy. After the war they settled in Temple Texas. There is more to the story but this is enough for now.

My uncle had told me the remarkable partial story but I thought it was just family lore. My wife is an accomplished amateur gemologist. She tracked down the full documentation of the story. We have copies of letters and photos.

This is just dishonest leftist WOKE disinformation. The issue is not whether slavery was bad, it's all about "America *is* bad". The Smithsonian should be focusing on all the ways America is great, not pushing the Democrat agenda of "America is bad."

We need to kick all the WOKE fuckers out of the Smithsonian.

No, I want historians who won't make this political.

I find it telling that of all the thousands of exhibits at the Smithsonian, trump is laser-focused on the one that shows that blacks were enslaved.
That would be nice but the Smithsonian has even made Steamboat Willy political . The slave exhibit isn't the only one that will be evaluated for wokeness.

You generally run from this type of question, but what exactly is PP complaining about that focuses to much on how bad slavery was?
again you need someone to tell you how bad it was? you don't know?

I know you like slavery as evidenced by your desire to have cheap illegal aliens pick your oranges

No, do you?

Why are we preventing our historical record from admitting that it was bad?
This is precisely the problem we see in distributing information. You want to editorialize not inform. It's possible to report on the fact that slavery took place without having to decide for others if it was good or bad. If you don't know it's bad then you're morally fucked up. Since you're a leftist you're morally fucked up because you don't believe there's an absolute right or wrong. You can't can say there are no moral absolutes and they try to declare slavery is bad.

True. I rode the Yamaha on a 6 month tour of the Western US and Canada and had ZERO issues. I rode a friend's Norton once but the reversed shifter and brake locations scared me. I was afraid in an emergency stop I might make a mistake.

Rode an old Indian with a foot clutch and hand shifter. Same thing - scared the hell out of me because of the odd setup.

There is nothing at the Smithsonian saying slavery specifically is bad. That’s silly

Why is it silly? Because you don't like it? You want to decide what's good or bad for people. Trumps bad, correct? Simply because you think so. Who gives a fuck what you think or like?
