Ignorance and the Bible

Exactly. And as I said...I do not expect who thinks that the Holy Spirit is necessary to comprehend theology...and who think that the Holy Spirit chooses individuals for special attention...to comprehend theology either. We both have expectations in this area.

But if you need to think the Holy Spirit is necessary to comprehend theology...and that the HS chose you for special attention...fine. Go with it.

Go in peace with it.

But there are probably few, if any, theologians or philosophers who would suggest you continue to engage in on-line discussions of this issue. Just about 100% of them would advise you that it is a bad idea for you to do so.

Go in peace with what you have.
So now you're spokesman for theologians?

Remember that Ross Dolan thinks ALL theology is just a "blind guess."
Because he is Spiritually blind. I totally understand.
Why in the world would I think I am Chosen?
Because when Chosen, I was a blank sheet,I knew nothing about Religion, Theology, YHWH,Jesus.
And when Chosen, my response was get someone else anyone else!
It made no sense to me, why choose someone with less then no interest in religion, theology.
But that's where my Faith comes from! I know I didn't want anything to do with this.

The way I remember it is because life takes a low entropy energy source (sunlight), and metabolizes and radiates it into a higher entropy energy form. Therefore it accords with the second law of thermodynamics.

^^ I verified that my memory of what I read in Sean Carroll's book years ago was pretty much exactly right:

“The Sun is the source of energy for living beings on Earth…that the energy is in low-entropy form. For every 1 photon of visible light we get from the Sun, we give back 20 photons to the universe, each with about 1/20 of the energy. We radiate infrared light to the universe, which means that we increase entropy by a factor of 20. Energy comes in, we increase its entropy by a factor of 20, and then we give it back to the universe in the form of infrared radiation.
-Sean Carroll, theoretical physicist, ‘Mysteries of Modern Physics: Time’ (2012)

No he's in search of ego stroking. His posts are almost always just a chance for him to "show off" whatever it is he googled most recently. He likes the big sounding stuff, but he doesn't understand it.

Take is claim about "low entropy energy" from the metabolizing to blah blah blah. He could support that claim with some numbers but you and I both know he won't.

He can't. He doesn't understand this stuff except in broad "pseudoscientific" strokes. He's on here to stroke his own ego.

It's fun to try to debate him until he realizes he's lost at which point he just starts attacking.

That's funny.
Summed up beautifully!

No one is confused about the downshift in UV to IR photons. But if that were the precipitating factor for life you'd think life would be far more easily found across our planetary system and the universe.

Just handwaving about entropy = nothing in the prevalence of life.

And besides: given the fact that we have this giant sun pumping energy into our system, why does life need entropy to decrease in order to form?

Seems that the impact of entropy is less important than the addition of energy.
