In February this year, a group of Chinese commentators said a report by the National Audit Office (NAO) had found that China’s high-speed railway saw an “about 100 billion yuan of total loss” in the nine months ending December 31, 2024.

China's once profitable railways records $900bn debt over push for growth

Maybe because in the US the government is still held responsible to the public and people... except maybe in California...

Suuuure.

Good Rail is not here to build profits.....It is here to build Empire.

America has failed, and has failed all the way.

WAKEYE! WAKEYE!

Passenger rail in larger nations is a waste of money outside of commuter corridors in high population areas. It is cheaper and better to build airports and use aircraft. In the US passenger rail disappeared because it was economically uncompetitive with airplanes. Now, tards on the Left--in particular--want to resurrect this Jurassic Park transportation system because they like trains.

If you build it, they won't come. HSR is a massive money pit and total loser as a transportation system outside very specific conditions that include:

Dense urban population centers
A run distance between stations that doesn't exceed about 30 minutes.
Availability of rail corridors that can accommodate HSR
A population that has a need for regular use of the system such as daily commuters.

You don't have all of that, and more, HSR is a waste of time and money.

France and Japan meet that with their HSR systems, China doesn't. California doesn't meet those requirements. The only place in the US HSR might succeed is in the NE corridor between NYC and DC, and that's pretty iffy.

US congress spent $900 billion on the war department this year alone. That doesn't include money for all the alphabet agencies or pensions. The US always has plenty of money for bombs to drop on women and children as our 1950 infrastructure decays.

Plus something like $.3 trillion on dark ops and empire maintenance.

Americans can go fuck ourselves....the people in charge dont care about us.
