Jimmy Kimmel is returning to TV

The boycott's a big thing. People talking about it here and it's all over my Facebook feed. I'm going to check tonight and see the responses (how many will continue with it).

I'm thrilled to be 4-0, but I still say we're a big TBD. Our schedule has been weak and we have some defensive issues. We have Illinois, Notre Dame and Michigan coming up. This will show whether we are for real or not.
You got it better than me... The Badgers can barely beat mid majors anymore and got beat pretty handily by Maryland. :barf:

We're gonna get TROUNCED by Ohio State, Oregon, Illinois, Indiana, and others. We probably won't win another game this season. But hey, at least we beat two mid majors. The "fire Fickell" chants have already started, and the team already gets booed loudly at home games by halftime.

They thought they had. Then Carr messed it all up with his Mook Impression... "Dis'yere show fell of the back of a truck..." I think they are wishing he'd stayed out of it.
They could have easily just said, we don't need that pressure from the Government.

Hey. For at least a week he'll have some ratings, then people will remember that his show sucked and it will drop right back down to the dregs.
I dont know if his show sucked or not, never saw it. I dont really care.

Do you have any evidence his ratings were so bad?

Not to spoil the surprise, but he's a comedian who speaks out against Trump. Those who watch him can tell you if he does it better or worse than other liberal comedians and commentators.
"Comedian" is a pretty far stretch... that would involve actually telling jokes and actually being funny.

Jay Leno... now HE was a comedian.

I remember when I really wanted Fickell (we obviously ended up firing Riley). My question is this, Wisconsin has always been known for their power running game. Why the hell did Fickell change it up and go to the Air Raid?

(My best friend was in the owner's box of the Cowboys-Bears game yesterday and he sent me a picture with Barry Alvarez. Said he had a chance to talk to Barry for awhile and he was a great guy.)

Again, don’t know of any boycott of Disney

Nah, you got Michigan at home and we saw last week how overrated Illinois is, USC’s remaining tests are ND and Oregon, two losses would keep USC out of the league championship and playoffs. Well, unless Indiana and Ohio State falter
I'd be thrilled if we go 10-2. Honestly, I'd be really happy if we go 9-3.

  • Among the major broadcast late-night shows, Kimmel is still among the top (especially in key demos sometimes).
  • He beats some competitors (e.g. Fallon) on total viewers or certain demographics.
  • The decline is not unique to his show — many late-night shows are seeing drops due to cord-cutting, streaming competition, and changing viewing habits. LateNighter+2Forbes+2

Going to piss off Trump and MAGA
If Jimmy returns with the same vigor, than great fantastic. But if he cowards like most liberals do and become this sugar water comedian, than his return will be worthless. Its the TRUMP JOKES THAT GAVE HIM HIS AUDIENCE AND FLUFF JOKES WILL NOT DO.

Clips is where the majority of viewers see it, few people stay up to watch TV after the local news, and it seems Disney doesn’t agree with your “no talent” appraisal
But the public does or Kimmel would not have lost 70 million dollars in the past two years.

Kimmel averages 1.7 million viewers with less than 260,000 in the coveted 25-54 demographic. Kimmel's audience is taking a nose dive. I suspect this controversy will temporary help his rating but only temporarily.

Greg Gutfield averages 3.31 million a night on CABLE and 360,000 25-54 year old viewers. And cost much less to produce.

Now, lets see if Trump has the balls to take action on his threats!

I guess @Damocles theory that ABC was looking for an excuse to fire him does not hold water!
@Damocles and other magats will tell themselves whatever lie they need to believe.

This explodes their lies that it was ratings or not being funny, or the other stuff magats were lying about and proves it was all gov't pressure.

That's exactly what most of us fans were asking at the time. We just wanted to keep our same old plain jane "boring" power running game. Sure, it's "outdated" and whatever, but it's what has worked for us since Alvarez came around. Strong defense, SOLID offensive lineman, top of the country running backs, strong fullbacks, and just power it right down team's throats.

The "air-raid" experiment was a huge failure, and now we're a team without an identity, without our historically strong defense, and without the OL talent of years past. We still have pretty good running backs, but they can't do much of anything when the OL gets completely manhandled by other teams and is completely incapable of opening up any sort of a hole for them to run through.

It's really embarrassing to watch. It's the first time in my lifetime that the Badgers have been "pathetic". With the recent changes to the NCAA (the "Big 20+", transfer portal, paying college athletes big bucks), I don't think that the Badgers will ever be competitive at football again (at least for the foreseeable future). I think they would have been alright if they had stuck to what they've always done, but now with the failed identity change, few star athletes are going to want to play for a team that sucks and lacks the identity that they once had.

At least we still got women's hockey, women's volleyball, and hopefully the men's basketball team remains decent.
