I wrote that the UN made a fateful mistake by deciding to create two states in Palestine without ensuring their security. They should have deployed troops to the designated dividing line first; then the war between Arabs and Jews would not have broken out. Armed Jews began expelling the Arabs, who were far outnumbered, not only from the territory designated for Israel but also from the territory designated for Palestine. From the very first day, Jews staged pogroms in Jaffa and Acre. Millions of Palestinian refugees appeared. Today, whatever the circumstances, and as regrettable as it is, the fact is that, thanks to the Hamas Palestine Liberation Organization, the world community has finally awakened to its conscience, and the UN has reaffirmed the Palestinian people's right to a state of their own. The UN has essentially thwarted Israel's plan to expel or exterminate the Palestinian people in order to seize all of Palestine.
