Has the Dam broken?

Now Trump is not even trying to hide that he is going after Comey on a personal vendetta. I’m not sure that’s going to go over very well with the Republican Senate.

So, when Biden went after a former President and main Presidential political opponent, that wasn't a vendetta?

So, lying to Congress isn't a crime?

The primary law criminalizing false statements to the government is Title 18, Section 1001 of the U.S. Code. This statute makes it a felony to knowingly and willfully make a materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement in any matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative, executive, or judicial branches. This law is broad and applies to both written and oral statements, covering everything from formal testimony to submissions like financial disclosure forms. A statement does not need to be made under oath to be considered a crime.

Trump has lowered himself from President of the United States to guy who is truly triggered and overly angry about a comedian television host with poor ratings.
Trump will NEVER get lower than the last administration no matter how much you lie your dumb ass off, flail and deflect. :palm:

The story that Trumps brain is going fast is rapidly spreading on my grapevine.

'He Fought With Us': Trump Gets Overwhelmed By Cognitive Decline, Claims Putin Led Russia In World War II At Bill Signing Ceremony

During a bill signing ceremony blocking California's emission rules several weeks ago, Donald Trump claimed that Vladimir Putin led Russia in World War II and lost 51 million people. Putin was born in 1952, years after World War II ended.

Did he? IF the Justice Department secures an indictment, we will get to see if they have any evidence Comey authorized a legal leak.

Unlike the last President, if he is indicted, it will be for the REAL crime of lying under oath, unlike the last President who just made stupid shit up.

It's tempting to want to believe that there are enough honest (R)s who still care about this country, who will stand up to the #TangerineTyrant. But there aren't. Where were they when he stole classified documents, instigated an attack on the Capitol then pardoned the insurrectionists? Where are they now that he's unleashed his ICE goons upon the country? Where were their voices when he built a prison camp in FL? Why are only three of them kinda sorta sticking up for the first amendment and Kimmel? Why are they silent as he and his brain worm RFK use politics rather than science to advise on medical matters like vaccines?

The (D)s need a spinal strengthening. The (R)s are as spineless as jellyfish.
Brainless projecting. :palm:

trump's still holding a grudge from 2017 that Comey wouldn't pledge loyalty to him rather than the Constitution.

I once had a co-worker that used that phrase ad nauseam. “Too funny”.

What is that? Is it more than merely “funny”. Isn’t funny enough? Is it the same as “more than funny”? “Excessively funny”? “Highly funny”? “Greater than funny”?

When does something go from merely “funny” to “too funny”?

He really is a fucking moron. Jeez!

Being on the political right in the Bay, it’s almost impossible to stay in an echo chamber. I’ve found and read real liberals who are anti-Trump but also willing to talk about the problems in their own party, and why just being anti-Trump isn’t enough.

This board isn't moving any needles in the real world but the mentality is the same. You guys all bond together being anti-Trump but it's like an unwritten code, 'we shall not speak about our own party'. Power will ebb and flow between both parties in this country, no one will dominate for long, but you guys choose to absolutely ignore your own issues which only benefits Republicans.

Kinda coincidental that it was right after the FCC chair made the "or we can do it the hard way" comment, no?
no.

After years of sycophancy, groveling, and eating crow, at least three Republican senators have publicly stood up to the TACO in Chief!

We had an unprecedented three Republican senators come out against the way Trump threatened Jimmy Kimmel. Not just any Republican senators, but Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were two of them. This has never happened before. Ted Cruz has been kissing Trump‘s ass ever since he got trounced in the Republican primary almost 11 years ago. I have never seen him take Trump on directly, and the very interesting thing was Trump did not punch back.

The American people seem to have supported Disney and ABC when they finally stood up to Trump on the Jimmy Kimmel issue. Trump has shown weakness in this event. Other smaller things like the clear, sabotage the experience at the UN, and his ineptness to do anything about it might be signaling a turn.

I’ve seen over and over again when presidents finally reach the point where their own side is willing to criticize them, they are significantly rained done. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that this is happening at the beginning of the start of a congressional election year. In a few short months, the focus will be off Trump and onto the nationwide campaign. No matter who wins the house and Senate next year, the end of that race will mark the start of the 2028 presidential primary elections.

Once a few Republicans declare, the emperor has no clothes, I think the dam will have burst. There comes a point where Trump’s power to Lord over congressional Republicans will weaken to a teeny trickle. When that happens, the resentment and anger that they have had to swallow over his treatment of them will come out with a roar.
Unlike Democrats Republicans don't always have to agree with each other.

I understand, I am not Pro Democrat, both parties do equal damage to the Constitution and Nation. I am liberal, but not a true believer in the Democrats. Trump is really I likely would have voted for Nikki Haley had she won the republican nomination.
For people who really don’t want Trump or another America First candidate in office, the focus should be on what Democrats can do to win back voters. That’s not as much fun though. It’s easier to focus on anti-Trump messaging and call his supporters racists, sexists, or fascists, instead of looking at what’s happening in the country and in our institutions that makes people want to vote for him or for Republicans.
