Leteicia James has been

James bought a second house, not an expensive one, in the $ 125,000 range. She allowed a relative to live there for some time. When she moved out, I read that James rented it out. The claim is that she bought it to rent out. That gives you a higher loan rate. It is a ridiculous case.
Trump was charged with a lifetime of cheating on bank loans. These are not comparable.

Case exposes Magat hypocrisy once again.

People like @T. A. Gardner and @FastLane were unrelenting when it came to charges against Trump that if there was 'no victim' then any charges were wrong and invalid. They were incorrect about the law but that is what they stated and seemed to believe.

I say 'seemed to believe' because once again that belief seems to instantly go away and be shown not to be a principle as soon as they perceive it might benefit the left, if they stick to it.

The entire amount of potential interest saved by Lettisha, if this is accurate is just over $10,000. Not the millions upon millions in Trumps case and yet while they felt 'no victim, no crime' applied to Trump they are now saying 'No victim, that is ok as this is about documents fraud and is rightly prosecuted'.

Rick Santorum (R-PA) did the same thing when he was in the Senate. He owned a small house in PA that he called his real home, while living in a custom-built mansion in VA.

So they have the following evidence against James

A mortgage application for a home in Virginia where she swears that the hone will be use as her PRIMARY residence and that she personally will occupy it in less than 60 days and will use it as her primary residence for at least 12 months.

They have a home insurance application where she swears she is the primary resident of the Virginia home.

There are IRS documents where James lists the Virginia home as a rental property.

There is a second home in Virginia where James signs and swears that it is not a rental property

It is also listed as rental property on IRS documents.

James got a more favorable mortgage rate due to her lies. She saved about 1% on her mortgage interest rate.

Other evidence of lying on mortgages and insurance.

In New York she lives in a 5 unit apartment building. The maximum number of units to qualify for the government backed loan that she has is 4 apartments. She lied on that mortgage by saying the building only has 4 apartments.

She also lied on her home insurance as well in New York.

In both Virginia her lies have resulted in her getting more favorable insurance rates and more favorable mortgage rates.

The NY mortgage is beyond the statute of limitations but it shows a pattern of dishonesty.

Should Letica James not be indicted for he mortage fraud while many other Americans have been trialed and convicted for doing the exact same thing?

I have repeatedly asked Bartender if James was above the law and Bartender has dodged the question.

So what does JPP think should James go to trial?

I was? Where?

James saved over 18K over the life of the loan by lying on her mortgage papers. She also saved on her insurance by lying on her insurance papers.

James says Mar A Largo is just worth 18 million dollars. It is really worth around a billion. There are 2 acre lots near Mar A Largo that are selling for 150 billion dollars.

We're supposed to hear about Bolton this week, apparently.

I'm amazed people are good w/ this.
The word is Schiff is next.

Bolton had classified documents in his home and shared highly classified information in an email to his brother in law who does not have classified clearance.

I'm amazed you are good w/ this.

Are you saying Trump committed fraud on his property taxes?

I am amazed that you don't want James prosecuted. BTW the criminal complaint about James came from Bill Pulte who himself has a felony conviction for mortgage fraud. He notified the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). These allegations led to a Justice Department investigation, and a federal grand jury indicted James in October 2025. I believe Bill Pulte is behind the discovery the led to f Schiff's allegations of similar Mort-age fraud.

Is James above the law?

There was no victim. The banks / bank officials testified as much. The loans were between private individuals. The government wasn't involved.

Who was the victim and how much did they lose?

$18,990 and change. Trump didn't take anything from anyone. Private banks made a deal to loan him money at a specified set of terms. The government wasn't involved. The banks said the loans were paid in full.

In Jame's case, she was getting government backed mortgages and by lying on the forms she got better terms and bilked the government out of interest and fees they charged others for the sort of loan she should have gotten. Further, the forms said lying on them could result in criminal charges.

So, how much of a loss is small enough that it doesn't matter, $18,990? How about $10,000? $5,000?

If he did that would be Florida's problem not New York's correct?
In other words you are OK with Trump committing crimes. You just are upset when he is called to account for those crimes.

The reality is that the value of Mar-A-Laga was closer to the tax basis because of the way it is zoned. Trump committed fraud by claiming its value was as if it was zoned as a private residence when it was not.

I have yet to see you arguing this for the Letitia James indictment. Obviously this isn't an actual standard you believe in. It is simply something you say because you are in a cult and have to absolve your cult leader.

She got a federally backed loan and lied to get a more favorable mortgage rate.

The FHFA made the criminal complaint to the DOJ. They do the same thing to hundreds of other people who try to defraud them every year.

You might want to read the actual indictment instead of making yourself look like a fool by claiming she was making payments to the federal government.

Link? The tax assessor assesses the value not the owner. You can challenge the assessed value but in reality few people challenge the state to raise the value of their property. So what are you blathering about?

LOL. It will be interesting to see when this gets to an actual court. Because a court will look at the actual documents and the actual facts of the case including the law she allegedly violated as well as the circumstances leading up to her indictment.

Just so you know, she took out the loan in 2020 so she has not defrauded the government of $18,000 dollars as alleged in the indictment.

The assessor values property based in similar properties. Mar-A-Lago is not a private residence. What you are avoiding is the fact that Trump committed fraud by claiming its value as if it was a private residence.

The value of $18 million is not something the judge or James made up out of thin air. It is the value assessed by Florida.
