The military brass certainly did all the nuts and bolts work, but Obama had to be involved to some degree in the planning of it. Possibly in arriving at the original decision to take the opportunity to move in after an intelligence briefing about his location being discovered.

In the case of DD it's much less clear. Less clear like his cognitive function.

It's a shame the Brits didn't just walk away and do nothing, rather than hand half of the territory of Palestine to a group of people who were religiously at odds with the rest of the region.

Bigotry has the same ugly face no matter what or where it originates. Scapegoating Jews in Europe goes back almost 2000 years. Unscrupulous leaders make use of such bigotry to achieve their aims. Hitler used the Jews. Trump illegals. While intellectual people are not as easily persuaded, a nation's poorly educated are more easily manipulated. This also explains why wannabe dictators go after the intellectuals along with their scapegoats.
