So who here think Kamala would have got the hostages out?

I think the hostages would still be in their dungeons if Harris had been elected.
I agree. You know why? Republicans put less pressure on Bibi to make peace. That's why Bibi prefers Republicans. They're more pliable - and Bibi is a war criminal.

But having said all that - if peace in the mid-east comes from this, I will sing trump's praises! I don't think the agreement will hold together for more than 2 months, 3 at the most. History dictates that neither side really keeps their bargains.. BUT!

I hope I'm wrong!

Hamas only cares about power. Trump blowing up Iran's nuke program screwed up their payments from Iran and Qatar didn't want to test Trump either. So Hamas fighters weren't getting paid. You could be correct about how long this lasts. We will just have to wait and see.

Dude, you're insane if you don't think Bibi prolonged the attack on Gaza as long as he could until trump's threat to withdraw support scared him. Like I said, Bibi doesn't give a shit about Democrats. They play too nice. trump can be nasty when people cross him - trump can withdraw America's military support - so Bibi caved. I'm glad he did and I really hope peace lasts!

The plan was actually Biden's plan that trump tweaked. Now trump is pretending it was all his. Prove me wrong.

Just five days before the official transition of power, President Joe Biden, flanked by Vice President Harris and Secretary of State Antony J Blinken, announced that Israel and Hamas finally reached a peace agreement on Jan. 15.

“Today, after many months of intensive diplomacy by the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire and hostage deal,” Biden said in a statement released after the White House news conference.

“This deal will halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity.”

“This plan (the agreement between Israel and Hamas) was developed and negotiated by my team and will be largely implemented by the incoming administration. That’s why I told my team to keep the incoming administration fully informed, because that’s how it should be, working together as Americans,” said Biden. “This will be my final address to you, the American people, from the Oval Office, from this desk as president.”

So exactly why didn't Biden get the hostages out if he had such a great plan? :rofl2:

Bibi was laser focused on killing as many Hamas fighters as they could. So Trump wasn't afraid to use all the leverage he could. So Trump is a better leader. And?

Because he had only three days before trump was sworn in, so he left it to the new administrration.

Btw, if you read trump's plan you'll see how closely it mirrors what the Biden team wrote.
Silly the war started in October 7 2023 Biden was in office for a year and three months more. Trump has only been in office for nine months.

A very big reason this plan worked is because Trump made Bibi stop and Trump and Israel attacked Iran and severely damaged Iran's nuclear program. Biden let Iran sell oil again earning them Billions and Billion which they paid to Hezbollah and Hamas. And Trump stopped Iran's ability to sell oil. Trump also convince Qatar to tell Hamas to surrender. Hamas couldn't make payroll. Biden had ZERO chance at getting the hostages out.

<sigh> I didn't say the plan was written in 2023. This is from one of the above links.

"An analysis by Forward says the Trump plan closely mirrors the three-phase approach President Biden proposed in April 2024, which included postwar reconstruction, the removal of Hamas, and a long-term regional strategy. A ceasefire and hostage deal signed in January, supported by both Biden and Trump, collapsed after just 42 days."

It's a total waste of time trying to talk to these idiots.

So this "plan" conveniently comes together 3 days before Trump is sworn in? And they continued working on it after the failed election 2 1/2 months earlier? Now Trump stole it? That's a tough one to swallow.

Show us examples. Inquiring minds want to know...
