It is happening all over the country.
We have about 1200 people here and they closed up the drug store, the emergency care center and now we have to travel over 18 miles to get to the closest emergency center . Talk about hospitals, well closest is 20 miles away and that is a real small one with only a few Doctors. the next one is about 26 miles and that isn't too much bigger . it is 40 to 45 miles to get to a medium Hospital and about 50 to get to a large one .
If you have a real emergency here you better hope you have some real good EMTs and a fast ambulance.

Should people living in a town of 1200 expect to have a medical center?

I don’t live in a rural area, so you’ve seen this firsthand in a way I haven’t. From what I’ve read though, it does line up with what you’re saying. Rural healthcare has been breaking down for years, and a lot of clinics and pharmacies have shut down because the numbers just don’t work anymore.

Have you heard anyone talk about a new model that could work in areas like yours?

Same for large cities. Obamacare caused many clinics to sell out. Doctors don't want to put up with the overwhelming paperwork.

The sad part is most or all of the voters in Curtis, voted for Trump, and it's the same in other rural communities around the country losing their healthcare faculties too?!!

If the President has control over this, why were these communities losing healthcare facilities during the Obama and Biden years?

No right now they are not interested in coming back to such a small town.
