If tariffs dont raise prices….

I can tell you that getting things shipped from the UK / Europe, no tariff involved necessarily, is grotesquely expensive mostly because of the UK and Europe. The bureaucracy is onerous.

I just ordered from Rimmer Brothers in the UK a pair of MGTF / MGF 240mm conversion brake discs (they fit perfectly on a Lotus Europa rear suspension to switch it to disc brakes.) These cost me in USD just a little over $20 each. Shipping after export duty, VAT, and whatnot, came to $93 USD and change.

Tariffs aren't the problem with the UK and Europe, bureaucracy and onerous laws there are.

So tariffs cause prices to go up? Because they cause supply to go down, right?

Why does Trump believe doing away with tariffs on beef would lower prices?
Because our Ranchers cannot meet demand. Trump made a deal with Argentina to not sell as much soy beans to China so because they cooperated Trump let them sell us more beef which we need right now. It takes 3 years to bring a heard back. The national herd is the smallest it has been in over 40 year due to Dementia Joe's idiotic policies.

That’s not what the White House said was the reason TACO gave up on beef tariffs.

There are no tariffs on domestic production. Is this too hard for you, or are you just feeling attention starved again?
I never said there were?!?

But there were tariffs on imported beef. Trump said he is dropping that tariff to address affordability issues, but he also said tariffs don’t increase cost to the consumer, so I’m confused!

Why do you believe Trump said he was dropping the beef tariff due to high prices?
Because he is dropping the tariff due to high prices. What is confusing to you in that sentence? It's rather simple and says directly what he is doing. It doesn't change that American beef is superior to Argentinian beef.

If we really want beef prices to go down stop using thousands of acres for corn to make ethanol for an additive to gasoline. Feed it to cows instead. It does little for air pollution today and cheap feed for cows would reduce the price of raising them.

With an increasing population and diminishing farms and herd sizes, beef prices will go up. Supply and demand...
As for ethanol in gasoline, that's another (sad) subject. Don't get me started on crap gas...

Of course tariffs increase costs to the consumers. Trump has been full of shit since he started claiming they do not...and that the cost increase is not borne by the consumer.

Trump is one of the most stupid of the entire Trump cult...which is made up of the most stupid of the American electorate. Hell of a situation.

Why would Trump drop tariffs on Meat and other food to address the increasing cost?
Cost of living index does what? Evaluates the value of each intellectual soul alive as specifically ancestrally positioned daily here, cradle to grave, within geographically local consensus within global population present(longitude, latitude, platitude, attitude), each rotation forward here now.

But he, and his disciples say tariffs don't cause high prices?!?
