I think they are going to back off on the investigation thing because clearly his people will not stand for that. It appears that someone has finally explained to him how bad this issue is. The question is if there really is something terrible about Trump in the files, how long will he hold out.

Trump tried to hold this up, until the last second he was trying to get the senate to "slow walk" the approval of the bill to release these documents. He signed it without any ceremony in secret, because he had to, not because he wanted to.
The subpoena by the Oversight Committee will require the release of the files even with an investigation by the DOJ. Bondi will be required to release the files.
No, he could have vetoed it and allow the Congress to override his veto.
It would then have been on Congress when all the Democrats are exposed.

Trump did not want to have Congress voting to over ride his veto as that makes Congress look like they are the strongest body and can impose on Trump things he does not want. It shows they can flex power he does not have.
But i do love this, 'there is nothing there' argument, when it looks like Trump is able to block it, that Magats say, that instantly switches to ' but Democrats are in trouble if it does get released' that magats switch to when Trump cannot stop it being released.
Why were magats willing to protect 'Democrat' groomers and pedophiles until Congress forces their exposure and why are you ok with Trump doing it?
