What does this painting mean to you?

All that photo is missing, is a Catholic priest. Need I say more.
You can say what you want without hiding the words. But the facts are that there are no more Catholic pedo priests than those of any other religious denomination. The Catholics just got more news coverage. Have you ever read the statistics about Boy Scout leaders?

Context of Abuse Cases

  • The Catholic Church has faced significant scrutiny and media coverage regarding sexual abuse cases, particularly in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
  • High-profile cases and scandals have led to a perception of a larger problem within the Catholic Church, but studies suggest that the rates of abuse are not disproportionately higher than in other institutions.

Conclusion

While the Catholic Church has been heavily criticized for its handling of abuse cases, the data does not support the claim that Catholic priests represent the largest group of pedophiles compared to other clergy.

No, the Catholic Church did not change the Ten Commandments; rather, the differences in numbering and grouping between Catholic and Protestant versions stem from historical variations in how they are interpreted and listed. Both traditions contain the same commandments, just organized differently.

Overview of the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments, also known as the Decalogue, are a set of biblical principles relating to ethics and worship. They are found in the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy in the Bible.

Catholic vs. Protestant Listings
The Catholic Church and many Protestant denominations list the Ten Commandments differently. This difference often leads to the misconception that the Catholic Church has changed or omitted a commandment.

1You shall not have other gods besides MeYou shall have no other gods before me
2You shall not take the Name of the Lord in vainYou shall not make unto thee any graven image
3Remember to keep holy the Lord’s dayRemember the sabbath day, to keep it holy
4Honor your father and your motherHonor thy father and thy mother
5You shall not murderThou shalt not kill
6You shall not commit adulteryThou shalt not commit adultery
7You shall not stealThou shalt not steal
8You shall not bear false witness against your neighborThou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor
9You shall not covet your neighbor’s wifeThou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife
10You shall not covet your neighbor’s goodsThou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods

Reason for Differences

The Catholic Church follows a numbering system established by St. Augustine, which combines the prohibition against graven images with the commandment about having no other gods. This grouping is seen as a way to emphasize the prohibition against idolatry rather than omitting a commandment.

Conclusion

The Catholic Church did not change the Ten Commandments; rather, it uses a different numbering system that reflects its theological understanding. The essence of the commandments remains intact across both traditions.

This isn't exactly what I'm talking about.

It is pretty simple and it starts with following Christ then following His Big Ten. Do you believe in following God's Ten Commandments?
After Christ arose from the dead, the 10 commandments entire meaning was reclassified for lack of a better word...Christ preached forgiveness and atonement. In essence, salvation for all sinners, whereas the 10, gave you none.

Anytime you screw up, you change the topic. We were discussing the number of offenders, not the amount of settlements. I notice you haven't touched the subject that the BSA had more victims than the Catholic church.

Is that so???

Then why in the last Chapter of the Bible did he say? I await you learned exegeses.

Rev: 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Settlements proves it? Um the Roman Catholic Church has money.

YOU ARE THE ONE THAT TRIED TO DEFLECT TO OTHER CHURCHES NOT ME. You even change the subject to the BSA. :rofl2: The BSA is teaching God's word. You seem to think the Roman Catholic Church is. Call me crazy but I don't think priests (and nuns) should be diddling little kids.

YOU are the one who is trying to say that there is more pedophilia in the Catholic priesthood than any other church or organization. That makes you F. O. S.

And for the record, NOBODY should be diddling little kids, you insufferable moron.

What good is it to have your family in church on Sunday smiling & agreeing w/ sentiments that are in line w/ the message of "love thy neighbor," and then spend the rest of the week on JPP or some other site, or in Congress or the WH, spewing hate for neighbors you don't agree with?

There was never a time where a young family was all in church together and looking happy and content?
Of course there was...but that was not why you were using that picture.

You were showing what people were supposed to identify as "a better time in America."

But to do that honestly, one would have to post the other picture with it...and pictures of people being hanged from trees for driving while black.

You know my point, Stone...just as I knew yours.

OK prove wrong. Show me the settlements and the victims they represent. I'll wait....

I'm glad you agree too bad your religion hid the diddling and protected the diddlers.
