Stimulus Response Theory is a concept in psychology that refers to the belief that behavior manifests as a result of the interplay between stimulus and response. In particular, the belief is that a subject is presented with a stimulus, and then responds to that stimulus, producing "behavior" (the object of psychology's study, as a field). In other words, behavior cannot exist without a stimulus of some sort, at least from this perspective.

The white nationalist militias ranted for years about tyranny from the Left. While they had a point, they also highly exaggerated the danger in order to justify violence. 1/6 was one of the results. Worse, they now clearly support tyranny from the Right.
As an Independent, I'm also a centrist. There is both good and bad on both the Left and Right, but any extreme is always bad. We, the People, are witnessing that extremes of the Right. Murdering two Americans and dozens of illegals is immoral, illegal and indicative of tyranny.
