I think Trump's advisers are behind this. In public, he acts belligerant and tough. In private he is very susceptible to advisers who know how to schmooze and flatter and influence him. They stand to get something out of this. Trump is slow, dim-witted, and just along for the ride, a useful meat puppet of America's real enemies.

The word behind the scenes is Trump is desperate for an off ramp here and expected and was shocked when Iran refused all the offers of this being "done" already. He thought this would go like the last bombing where Iran would retaliate by sending up a bunch of missiles and then say they are done but that is not what is happening this time as Iran sees they cannot Trump and Israel and they will just keep coming back every few months to do this all again.

And no one can blame Iran on that when Trump and his White house claimed such a big victory the last time that they said secured America from the Iran threats for years to come and then months later the same Trump admin is attacking again.

Where i think this differs from Iraq is that Trump is desperate for an off ramp, so i suspect they will keep upping the offers to Iran and Iran will keep demanding more and more for a cease fire and Trump will TACO and give them everything while claiming it is some big victory for the US.

I don’t know, public opinion is very strong, something like 90% that the war should end soon. Well, he won’t admit it. Trump is sensitive to that. I think there’s a good chance. He will end it in the next three or four weeks due to political pressure.

I hope you’re wrong, think Trump wants to go into November having finished this war a long time earlier. Although it’s very unpopular, Americans will very quickly forget if it’s over soon.

Then they can go back to screaming that liberals want transsexuals to run the country and educate our kids On sexuality.
