As for the stat game:
100,000 gun deaths in 4 years. That's 25,000 per year. Now, apply the percentages of the graph to that per year number. Then, compare that raw number to the census population for black folk that year. You come up with less than a fraction of 1% that are victims of gun deaths.
Oh, and remember that in that percentage mix suicides, accidental and bystander deaths are included ,,, which lowers the rate of actual Murder 1, 2 and 3 homicides.

Think about this...after the 1960's with all that volatile racist white energy and violent history black families, such as mine; had endured, when did my mama had a chance to heal from all that shit? Black families had no time to reflect, to instill, to guide, to do absolutely nothing but adjust and try to survive...so by the time the 1970's rolled up on us, there wasn't time for anything, No healing, no reflections, nothing. You then have generations emerging from all that trauma with a legacy that never was able to talk about good things from the culture, to instill a sense of great possibilities, of boot strap analogy, because white ppl made lives so impossible for their parents and grandparent, etc. WE NEVER GOT THAT CONVERSATION AND WAS NEVER ABLE TO PASS ON ANYTHING.
