Man Fired for Wearing Bush Sweatshirt

CVN 77....US Aircraft Carrier

Hammond says he was not trying to make a political statement. He says he got the sweatshirt and hat during a visit to the aircraft carrier on Family Day. The back of his sweatshirt has a large drawing of the ship.

He must have been getting back at the guy and by extension all bushies after reading the verdict in Weise v. Casper

"The President of the United States gave a speech open to the public, from which Leslie Weise and Alex Young allege they were forcibly ejected. Their transgression was to have arrived at the event in a car that displayed a bumper sticker reading “No More Blood For Oil.” After they were marched out, they allege, Secret Service officials confirmed to them that the bumper sticker was the reason for their exclusion."

I don't think so....the guy was a union supervisor, he couldn't read.

Besides, the verdict was correct....Their freedom of speech rights were not infringed on, nobody made them scrape off their bumper sticker, or told them to change their clothes....
They were unwelcome at a meeting. The very same things happen at Obama events on a regular basis....only he kicks out conservatives that might ask him an unauthorized question.

You gotta ignore those "they allege" claims....

This is embarassing. The ony reason you should be kicked off the USC campus is for wearing a UCLA shirt. This is freaking USC you don't get kicked off for wearing a Bush shirt. Stupid union boss is probably pissed the event wasn't held at UCLA or something.

He wasn't fired for wearing a Bush sweatshirt. He was fired for being bloody stupid and a danger to himself and others.

Yes he should be fired for having a son who is a navy seaman and serving on the U.S.S. G.W. Bush. It is very xenophobic, racist and antagonistic to the rest of the world for a parent wearing a shirt in support of his son.

In fact if parents were to take responsibility for their children no one would allow their kids to serve in the U.S. military and become terrorists to the rest of the world.

In fact this father is lucky he's not behind bars tonight.

Just love the American sense of humour. You should try it some day, young man.
Are you serious when you say you have a ship named after one of the worst presidents in the history of the world?
You just couldn't make this shit up!

It's called a submarine

USS Jimmy Carter
View attachment 531

We f*** up our subs like you f*** up your whisky: On the rocks!

A British Royal Navy nuclear-powered submarine is wedged on rocks off the Isle of Skye, on the west coast of Scotland.

No one on board the HMS Astute has been injured, and her nuclear reactor has been shut down.

The 328-foot-long vessel was only commissioned in August, and is the first of a new class of 7 attack submarines

Royal Navy Spokesman, Captain Carl Evans,

Oh I love humor. In fact I've been told at times I need to be more serious and not laugh and joke as much.

However when the supposed humorous comment comes from someone who is not exactly enarmored with America my humor level doesn't reach the same heights.

And since this bullsh*t act took place at my alma mater there is really little humor in it to me.

Now do try to learn, dear boy. There is no humour without 'u'. Alma mater? WTF some kind of kindergarten?
Note to self: Really must try to learn 'Yank' when I get five minutes.

If you cannot communicate how can you possibly expect to be America's next apprentice?

I'm sorry if you are not familiar with alma mater. It is not just an American used term. And maybe you can explain to me why my alma mater is the top university in the U.S. in partnering with Asian universities in the growing pacific rim? Maybe you can explain why my alma mater has such a high application rate from Asian countries? I mean why would they want to go to university in the U.S.?

You will find Asian students all over the world. The US has more Unis per capita than any other country so by the law of averages you will get more Asians than other countries. I have no idea what your Alma Mater is, Yale? Harvard? MIT. UCLA? nor do I know how much the fees for foreign students are. I do know that many America Universities (I do not know if yours should be included) have lower entry standards than some European Universities and offer a veritable cornucopia of next to useless courses. We might also add to the equation that the perception of America in many Asian minds is much better than the actual academic results might show.
Should you care to be a little more specific in your presentation of facts then we might all learn something. You might also care to research the term Pacific Rim. You will find that 'Asian' countries occupy less than half of it. Perhaps geography is not included in American Unis hence the numbers of Asians - who probably think they are in Scotland.
PS. Of course I am familiar with the term Alma Mater. I just love taking the piss out of people like you.

Better yet, why not just get the fuck off this board, peckerhead.

No, I don't. From the article: ***UPDATE: Duane Hammond says union officials called him this afternoon to apologize for the incident. He say they are "bending over backwards" to make it up to him.

I hope "bending over backwards" means giving him back his job.

Liberals are all too familiar with having their political viewpoints censored and IMO, it mostly started with the bush administration. So I think the original post, which hinted that this type of suppression started with Obama, is just bogus sh*t-stirring.

Do you agree with Weise v. Casper?

Sorry, the ruling stinks. Ginsburg's dissent was correct.

These people weren't disrupting the meeting. They had a statement of their political views on a car bumper, for god's sake. What are you trying to say, that the bumper was going to ask Obama an "unauthorized question"?

I'd be real careful about criticizing pre-screening at Obama events, given the eight years of staging bush appearances. Not to mention the Gannon/Guckert farce, among others.

Ginsberg isn't fit to be on the bench....in absolutely no way was this a case of freedom of speech being in jeopardy....

These 2 people were deemed unwelcome in this meeting and thats that....NO reason needs to be claimed.

These 2 aren't the only ones with rights.....the folks holding the meeting and property owners have rights also....and they don't even need a reason to ask someone to leave the premises....

Its like being fired from a job....we are protected from firing for certain special reasons....age, race, gender, etc.....but if the boss just don't like you, you're out and its legal....

Gannon/Guckert has nothing to do with anything...its not even about the same issue, pinhead.
Strawman bullshit ? ad hominem crap is the best you got ?
