That woman also accused of Assange of molesting her in a way "designed to violate her sexual integrity" several days later. A second woman accused Assange of having sex with her without a condom while he was a guest at her Stockholm home and she was asleep.

A person who has sex with an unconscious, drunk or sleeping person in Sweden can be convicted of rape and sentenced to two to six years in prison."

If I honestly thought that the charges had any foundation and were not just a fabrication orchestrated by the US then I wouldn't even try to defend him. These exact same charges were thrown out by the chief prosecutor, who is a woman by the way, in Stockholm in August. Nothing new has appeared in the interceding months, apart from the release of the diplomatic cables. So what do you know that nobody else does?

why post up the pic of the woman?

why are you repeatedly now running away from you and zappa's claim i defended the rape of young boys for doing essentially the same thing you've done, only you've taken it a step further and posted pics of his accuser....and i never defended the actions or the people directly involved unlike you....i can only imagine your reaction if i had posted pics of the boys

Apparently Assange's arrest pleases the US Secretary of Defense, regardless of the merit of the charges.

This is shameful, in my opinion. This is the kind of behavior America condemns when dictators oppress human rights.

Why are we doing this?

Ummm the US did not have him arrested this is between the Brits and the Swedes.

Get over yourself, that picture is all over the internet. That you are trying to equate the selling of young boys in Afghanistan with the events in Sweden is just desperate behaviour on your part.

He handed himself in voluntarily, the police knew his whereabouts at all times and even had his mobile number. Hardly the behaviour of somebody who was trying to evade the law. If the UK authorities receive an extradition warrant from another EU country then they are bound to act on it. It is a major bone of contention how this was allowed to happen with very little discussion in Parliament.

i never equated the two...no wonder you and zappa are such good friends

you are the one who posted her pic here on this board and you can't explain why....you did so to demean her....simple and plain...but to you and zappa...that is not defending rape, but me saying the us does not condone the atrocity of rape is me defending it....

FACT: the us did not arrest him and the brits did so on the behalf of the swedes

and the Swedes wanted him arrested on behalf of the Yanks who KILL people and who have threatened to kill him. And for THAT reason you will NEVER get him.
The word arrest was used simply because there is no other word suitable in the police vocabulary. What Tom says is 100% correct. There was no hunt, no guns, no threats. Bear in mind also that the Swedish authorities had already dropped the case against him until told by the Yanks to revive it.
