Will the new House cut the anchor cable?

These people are entering our country illegally, crossing our borders in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, or sneaking in through tunnels burrowed under the border...

Talking about tunnels have you seen pictures of those tunnels? Incredible! One even had a train track set-up like in a mine.

The point is if the government is giving them benefits then put them to work. The government is telling them it's illegal to jump the border but if they do the government will support them. What would any self-respecting, illegal alien do?

It's like telling someone they can't crash a party but if they do they'll get food and drinks. They may be illegal but they ain't crazy! :)

So, let me get this straight:

These people are entering our country illegally, crossing our borders in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, or sneaking in through tunnels burrowed under the border, a large number of them (small percentage, but still big number) bringing in drugs as payment for those helping them across the border, and according to you we are supposed to just shrug our shoulders and give these criminals everything that people who wait in line and follow the law receive?

Do you understand that the illegal immigrants are a large reason the waiting line for legal immigration is slowed to a crawl? Is that fair to those who have to wait a year or more?

Why is it dough heads like yourself have such trouble comprehending that these people are BREAKING THE LAW!!! Sometimes in more ways than just illegal entry.

How would Canada react if someone came up there and started breaking your laws? Reward them with a job and benefits? Come to think of it, Mexico's solution sounds pretty good. Gather them up and export them to Canada. Montana has a large, mostly uncontrolled border.... Then you guys can give them jobs, since that is such an "obvious" solution.

Hence our objection to giving them benefits. Because it encourages more illegal immigrants.

Hence our objection to employing them. Because it encourages more illegal immigrants. As far as I am concerned people who knowingly employ illegal immigrants should be treated as a criminal - fine the hell out of them at least, add jail time for repeat offenders.

Hence our objection to making them citizens. It was tried once before and ended up encouraging more illegal immigrants.

Get it? Anything we do that does not involve actually addressing the fact that we are dealing with ILLEGAL activity simply encourages more of it.

Of course the democrats don't care that they are dealing with illegal activity. They see giving illegals benefits and offering them citizenship as a means to securing a voting block. They don't give a ripe pig fart about the people, all they want is power.

Then I guess the Canadian rich don't care about those "less fortunet"; because it seems that there continues to be an attempt, by Canadian doctors, to be allowed to set up private practices.
I wonder why that is??

You wonder why that is?

The same reason US doctors like private practice. Greed! And you're right they don't care about the less fortunate.

When some people are sick or worse yet, dying, they do all kinds of irrational things including paying ANY PRICE for medical care.

Some doctors are trying but the people won't tolerate that. When the Conservatives took power in 2006 there were rumors of them allowing the doctors to run amok! The two opposition parties told them straight up they would defeat the bill (motion of non-confidence) and kick them out.

The idea there isn't any money is nothing but nonsense. I can see someone in Somalia saying their country can't afford government medical considering their GDP is $300.00/pp/yr. or Niger or Ethiopia at $400.00/pp/yr but when we see Canada at $45,888 and the US at $46,436 and people saying there's no money.....it's ludicrous.

But what really shows the absurdity is government medical costs approximately half what a "pay or suffer" system costs.

When one adds to that people in countries with government medical live as long if not longer than those in the US ....as I've asked before, "What is there to discuss?"

Let's say someone approached the border in a car and didn't stop. Drove right through. Do the border patrol just chalk it up to one missed car and carry on as usual or do they pursue the person?

They pursue. What the fuck does that have to do with it?

..."Ilegal immigration has seen a "sharp decline" over the last two years, the Pew Hispanic Center said in a new report Wednesday — the first significant drop in the last 20 years.

The drop coincides with both a slowing economy and stepped up enforcement under President George W. Bush and the early months of President Obama, though the report's authors said their data doesn't signal which factor is more important.

"At this point both of those broad factors seem to be working in the same direction," said Jeffrey Passel, the Pew Center's senior demographer.

Still, the drop is substantial. Just 300,000 illegal immigrants came per year in the last two years, or down nearly two-thirds from the rate earlier this decade. And the overall illegal immigrant population dropped from 12 million in 2007 down to 11.1 million as of March 2009, the report said.

The illegal immigrant population clearly shrank in Florida, Nevada and Virginia, and may have fallen slightly in other states, the report said.

The demographers used Census data from the annual Current Population Survey.

Illegal immigration had climbed steadily from 8.4 million in 2000 to a peak of 12million in 2007, but has declined by 900,000 since..."

Why of course, it's all about the greed.
Why else would you have sold that building and forced the tenets out.

Everything. If they see someone crossing the border on foot it's no different than driving a car across. They use whatever means necessary to apprehend the individual and that includes shooting them.

I didn't force the tenants out. The tenants were "sold" with the building. That's a sizable part of what the building was worth.

You see, there are rent controls here so while two buildings may be identical the one with higher rent and young renters is usually worth considerably more.

A couple or single person, say, 50 years of age who has lived in the same apartment for 10 years would not only be paying low rent but the chances are they would not be moving. A young couple or person may finish university, get a better job, then move. Or decide to have a family and require a bigger place. When they move the rent increases.

We're talking almost double, in some cases. Even 50% more in rental income allows for a larger mortgage.

Hey, I was a good slumlord! I even dated the single Mom who rented my country place.

Yes, Sir! I offer the whole package! :)

Funny.

Or are you actually serious?

Do you have any idea how much manpower it would take to patrol the entire US/Mexico border? And look for tunnels and shit on top of it all? If it was as simple as arresting people as they tried to cross illegally at established border crossings we would not be having this discussion. Weird as hell how they, for some inexplicable reason, choose NOT to cross at established border crossings.

Grow a brain.
