Go Ahead, Make Our Day

Do you think Catholics don't follow/believe in Scripture, yes or no.

I can't speak for everyone. Some do and some don't, just like every other Christian. Some Catholics believe they are the only true Christians. Some Mormons believe that also. That is not scriptural. The bible says WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Only God knows our heart, but we are to judge by the scriptures.

Where does scripture tell us the Catholic Church is the instrument of Jesus to save us?

Can Protestants be saved?

Stupid questions. Where does scripture tell us the Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian etc. churches are the instruments of Jesus to save us?

Then give us the verified version.

He was one person you idiot. He had nothing but his opinion, same as you.
There is no question that there is a Palestine and palestinian people. Who give a shit what a dead terrorist said 30 years ago?
Why are you such an obstinate prick?

Yet none of you can show us the scripture that states when Jesus ceased being a Jew.

Scripture doesn't say anything about Jesus from infant to 13, does that mean he didn't have a childhood? I'll use your technique and answer with a questions.

Making stuff up is what people do who don't have an answer. Damocles made it up so naturally you would think it's perfect. We are talking about scripture and who is a Jew and who isn't. When speaking about scripture, I much prefer people who actually know scripture rather than make stuff up.

Can you show us the scripture when this happened. Can you also show us when Paul ceased being a Jew? According to scripture, Paul was still a Jew after he became a Christian.

Did Paul believe Jesus was the Messiah? Because if he did, he was no longer a Jew.

FYI Damo was raised for 18 years as a fundamentalist Christian. Now he's a Buddhist. Are you going to say "no, he's still a Christian."?

There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people.

Scripture tells us the church is the believers, not a religious organization. There is no Christian denomination mentioned in scripture. Those came later. The church is everyone who believes in Jesus as their Savior.

You're still operating under the assumption that when you become a Christian you cease being a Jew. Paul said in 2 Corinthians he was a Hebrew, an Israeli, and a son of Abraham. Sounds like a Jew to me.

My technique is designed to find out how much you know. I only ask questions I already know the answer to, which every law student learns. You're not doing very well.

All we can know for sure about Jesus is what scripture tells us.

Captain Obvious strikes again.

You are still operating under the assumption that anyone give a shit what you say.

2Cor 11:8 I robbed other churches by taking wages from them to serve you;

Was Paul a thief?

Paul did not say how he was converted and did not mention a vision of any sort. However, he unambiguously said that when he became a Christian he did not talk to anyone about it.

Galatians provides information to estimate when Paul's conversion may have occurred. Soon after his conversion to Christianity, Paul spent 3 years in Damascus, but escaped the city when the governor under Aretas, king of the Nabateans from 9 BCE to 40 CE, had a garrison deployed to arrest him because of his Christian activities. Paul's conversion could not have occurred later than about 36 CE and was probably somewhat earlier.

Luke's account: Acts
Acts of the Apostles describes a dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus. Either:

· Paul was blinded by a light and fell down, then heard Jesus, who told Paul that he would be told what to do when he was in the city. His men did not see the light, but heard the voice. (9:3-8)
OR

· Paul was blinded by a light and fell down, then heard Jesus, who told Paul that he would be told what to do when he was in the city. This time, his men saw the light but, unlike Paul, were not blinded, but they did not hear the voice. (22:6-11) OR

· Paul saw a brilliant light but was not blinded, then heard Jesus, who gave him his mission, but did not command him to go to Damascus. He fell down, and for some reason, although there is no mention of the men seeing or hearing anything, his men also fell down.

In the first two narratives provided in Acts, the blinded Paul was taken to Damascus to be cured and taught Christianity. The third narrative differs in this regard, saying that he simply told those at Damascus and Jerusalem about his conversion experience; it also differs from Paul's own account because in Galatians he said that he told noone about his conversion experience.

Acts suggests that Paul's conversion occurred shortly before the famine that occurred between 44 and 48 CE.
