I knew a guy who left the Jehovah's Witness. He told me about an elderly couple (in their early 80s) who were Jehovah's Witness and lived in the same apartment complex which I did. When the wife died he told me the man, not being a "registered" Jehovah's Witness, was told to sit at the back of the church now that his wife had died. Basically they ostracized him now that his wife was no longer a member.
I'm not against any particular religion. I'm against any and all religions that treat people cruelly. I often wonder what motivates people to remain members of such religions. The only answer that makes sense is they are concerned about their own "welfare" (Heaven/Hell) regardless of how others are treated. That being the case what would possibly motivate me or anyone else to want to associate with such people?
