sherman had a point. however, that does not mean we have to act any more "barbaric" than necessary to accomplish peace. pissing on the dead of our enemies only serves to fuel their hatred. look at how we react when they treat our dead in a barbaric manner, albeit a bit worse than peeing on them. but the point it, you don't need to take the hell of war to any lower level than necessary.

especially when we expressly state we want to win their hearts and minds....

Well, once we become completely oil independent, they can all go fuck themselves. Just wall the whole damn region off politically and economically, and let them sit in limbo for all-time.

Ehhh I don't have a problem with the pissing on the dead sonofabitch. Now filming it and posting it on youtube he deserves and article 15 cause that was dumb as fuck. There I agree with you but spare me the medias faux outrage. It's a bunch of crap.

Since you equate a golden shower with beheading, then you would have no problem of the US Soldiers sawing an enemy combatant's head off, and then televising it on the evening news!!

The US does need to find/use an alternate fuel and wean ourselves off of the Arabic fuel teat.
 
As a former soldier, I find the actions of the marines "conduct unbecoming". Pissing on a dead human being only fuels hatred. Did you see all the ordinary Afghans who were outraged by this behavior. When the Marines did it, they KNEW they were wrong. As for the comment that no one was outraged about the killings of soldiers and their being drug through the streets, there was ton of outrage. A lot of it focused at Clinton for putting us there. Pissing on the dead is barbaric. We are above that. When a soldier cannot remember that, and acts outside the expected standards of behavior, he should have his ass smacked HARD.
