Tune In Tonight

Hmmmmm...I wonder if this doesn't have something to do with con press claiming they had the 'real" story behind this divorce and Newt did nothing wrong, and then all the little con ho's running around the internet claiming "even his children said"...never mentioning the children were from a different marriage. He's had so many! Hard to keep track? Anyway, looks like the cons pissed someone off. Oh well! I'd call this appointment tv!

ABC to Air Bombshell Interview with Gingrich Ex-Wife Tomorrow Night

World class scumbag Newt Gingrich is somehow still in the presidential race despite scandal after scandal. Recent polls even show him gaining on Romney. He's essentially the teflon don of GOP candidates. Nothing sticks to this guy.

It's looking like an ABC interview with his second wife, Marianne Gingrich, might actually do some damage, however. She spoke to ABC reporter Brian Ross for 2 hours. The interview is apparently so devastating that ABC debated the ethics of airing it prior to the South Carolina primary, according to the Drudge Report. Some network executives wanted to see it aired on Monday, only after the votes had already been counted.

Seems a tad bit more unethical for a network to try to protect a candidate in such a blatant manner, actually.

The Gingrich camp has pulled out all the stops in deflecting and delaying the controversy from hitting. Gingrich's two daughters from his first marriage sent a letter to ABC News pleading with them not to air it.

World class scumbag ?......Thats got a ring to it......

Well, I don't know why Newt didn't just follow in the footsteps of Bill Clinton.....Both ignored their marriage vows, made fools of their wives, .... and Newt could have enjoyed blow jobs in his office too, instead of getting a divorce.......

All he needed to do was not get accused of rape or sexual harassment and he could be electable.....even the liberals could have voted for him, being as Clintonesque as he is.

And , "Seems a tad bit more unethical for a network to try to protect a candidate, (politician) in such a blatant manner, actually.?.....

Really ?.....is this your first experience with perceived media bias ?...or is it only acceptable treatment for democrat politicians ?.

In reality, the interview will undoubtedly be aired.....there IS NEVER media bias to favor Conservatives on ABC.....that perception is ridiculous on its face.

Setting the record straight

It appears she was wrong about her mom giving interviews~

My father, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, has been in politics as long as I can remember.

And as long as I can remember, media coverage about him has contained misstatements of facts. The vast majority are simple mistakes that are easily corrected, understood and rewoven into an ongoing storyline.

But one of them seems to have taken on a life of its own, and simple corrections have not sufficed to set the record straight. Why does this happen? I can't be sure, but I suspect that the narrative created by these untruths proves to be so much more compelling and more dramatic than what actually happened that it proves irresistible.

I'm talking about the story of my father's visit to my mother while she was in the hospital in 1980.

For years, I have thought about trying to correct the untrue accounts of this hospital visit. After all, I was at the hospital with them, and saw and heard what happened. But I have always hesitated, as it was a private family matter and my mother is a very private person. In addition, for the four people involved, it was one of a million interactions and was not considered a defining event by any of us.

My mother and I have both recently run into quite a few people who hold an inaccurate understanding of this hospital visit. Many think my mother is dead.

So, to correct the record, here is what happened: My mother, Jackie Battley Gingrich, is very much alive, and often spends time with my family. I am lucky to have such a "Miracle Mom," as I titled her in a column this week.

As for my parents' divorce, I can remember when they told me.

It was the spring of 1980.

I was 13 years old, and we were about to leave Fairfax, Va., and drive to Carrollton, Ga., for the summer. My parents told my sister and me that they were getting a divorce as our family of four sat around the kitchen table of our ranch home.

Soon afterward, my mom, sister and I got into our light-blue Chevrolet Impala and drove back to Carrollton.

Later that summer, Mom went to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for surgery to remove a tumor. While she was there, Dad took my sister and me to see her.

It is this visit that has turned into the infamous hospital visit about which many untruths have been told. I won't repeat them. You can look them up online if you are interested in untruths. But here's what happened:

My mother and father were already in the process of getting a divorce, which she requested.

Dad took my sister and me to the hospital to see our mother.

She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor.

The tumor was benign.

As with many divorces, it was hard and painful for all involved, but life continued.

As have many families, we have healed; we have moved on.

We are not a perfect family, but we are knit together through common bonds, commitment and love.

My mother and father are alive and well, and my sister and I are blessed to have a close relationship with them both.

My sister and I feel that it is time to move on, close the book on this event and focus on building a great future. We will not answer additional questions or make additional comments regarding this meaningless incident, which occurred more than three decades ago.

As I said, my mother is a private person. She will not give media interviews. She deserves respect and should be allowed to live in peace.

That said, I dislike Newt because of his smarmy personality and make no claims to know any true facts. It's bound to be at least somewhat he said/she said.

But three marriages is kinda a clue. The problem is Newt. I think we all know it.

And I'll enjoy the show!

I could care less about the personal stuff, but the smarmy personality is too much. Every time an opponent starts criticizing him in a debate, he goes to his fallback expression of a completely overdone smile - almost like a character from Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" video, if anyone remembers that.

He's as done as done. Conservatives will eventually have to start accepting that Romney, with all of his waffling & hypocritical baggage, will be their nominee.

I think it's much ado about nothing. It shows a grave misunderstanding about southern and rural conservatism. It doesn't matter one wit that Newt isn't the poster child for family values. He's one of them. He's a good ole boy and that's what count.

Send his wife divorce papers while recieving Chemo, no problem. Serial aldutere, ok. What's really important is he's one of them....and he believes in Jesus...and not some brown skinned mediteranean Jesus either. He believes in a white Jesus like all decent people do.

The ABC report won't have an ounce of impact in South Carolina. In conservatism what you do, means nothing. As long as your one of the good ole boys, it's all good. :)

Do link us to where you are getting that information.

So perhaps instead of continuing the LIES the left wing nuts love to create, how about you try being a little more honest in the future. Quit being their parrot. They have Dung for that.

That is quite funny... as it is precisely what I thought of many times when seeing that goofy smile.

I thought that Obama had no chance at all before the primaries started. But the GOP dropped the ball again; it's a bad field.

You misunderstand the political climate- It's "anyone BUT Obama". The democratic primary of 2008 showed all the misadventures of democratic candidates. The difference between that primary and this one, was in a media acting like cheerleaders for Obama. That won't work this election cycle.

That's sort of wishful thinking. I recognize it, because I had the same thing in '04.

But Romney is weak - he has so much baggage.

Just think about the outrage of the left, if it was discovered that he had relatives in this country who were illegals.:whoa:

Never mind; I forgot that being a criminal is OK with the left.

That's sort of wishful thinking. I recognize it, because I had the same thing in '04.

It's funny you say that, I was just saying to a friend the other night that Romney reminds me of the John Kerry of the Republican party.

I think you're right. However her getting on camera and recounting how he asked for an open marriage so he could screw his current wife who "doesn't care what I do" (unlike his second wife who did care if he was intimate with other women), can't play very well with independent women.

Just my opinion.

Um, no one I read ever said she was on her death bed. I thought it was hysterical when Damo and a couple of others were running around here a while back exclaiming "SHE'S ALIVE! I HAD NO IDEA!' To which I say, well, duh. I did.

And their source is Newt who only admits "they got into an argument". Which is exactly what I have always read - he went to the hospital while she was recovering from cancer surgery and argued about the divorce terms.

IN other words - you are debunking nothing. You're just confirming what I always read.

Oh I think you're right. It won't play well with independent women at all but if Newt gave a fig what independent women thought he'd be running as a Democrat.

It's funny you say that, I was just saying to a friend the other night that Romney reminds me of the John Kerry of the Republican party.

Romney is sort of the classic "say anything to get elected" politician. He definitely has a few "voted for it before I voted against it"'s in him....

I just think it's interesting that cons are saying this doesn't matter. But in fact, it just came out that Santorum actually won Iowa, not Romney. And S Carolina is neck and neck between Newt and Romney. How could this not matter? So are they saying that elections don't matter and the big boys have already tapped Romney? Which is what I have said all along, but do they agree? I don't know. It's weird.
