On to Florida! This has definitely become a Romney/Gingrich race ... so long Paul and Santorum may you both get in behind your choice of those left standing!

In times like this I offer the following comfort.

DESIDERATA

Quite the contrary. My world promotes peace, freedom, and happiness. We covered this before. War vs government medical. Greed vs controls on shylocks. Republicans vs Democrats.

What you miss is "its the economy stupid". What Newt did to his wives is despicable... He would never stand a chance in a normal election cycle. If nothing else clues the democrats in to their likely loss, this should. I am confident that either Romney, or Newt, will win against Obama. Voters, IMO, are willing to hold their proverbial noses and vote for Newt, if need be, rather then have 4 more years of a quasi socialist, who has shown an inept ability to lead, win again. No one has confidence in Obama as shown with his high negatives in the polls yurt.

That said, republican's, make a grave mistake in defending Gingrich over his infidelities- to say "yeah, but Clinton did it", is dumb. Rather, accept that Gingrich, does not deserve the nomination on the merit of his past infidelities, but instead he deserves it on the merit of his ability to move our economy forward in a positive direction, as proven while he was Speaker.

Democrats have no trouble electing or reelecting candidates that have failed in rhetoric or life, when they believe, they are electing the right man for the job- We too should have no trouble facing our obvious hypocrisy over one issue- moral uprightness, contrasted with economic soundness, in order to save our nations economic soundness.

Obama will lose to either Gingrich or Romney- You made your prediction, I make mine :)

Polls don't exactly have a good track record predicting winners this far out. Nine months from the 1980 elections, all the GOP candidates polled worse than Carter. Reagan won in a landslide. In 1992, Bush Sr. was ahead of all Democrat candidates. In 2008, if we had gone with the polls this far out, we would have had a President Hillary or Huck, depending on which poll you looked at.

Romney being 'competitive' in the polls, to a sitting president, is NOT a good thing. Especially when you consider how much trouble Romney has connecting with a base. If an absolute political DOG like Romney can poll this close, your boy ain't doing too well. I'd be worried a little.

If you want another Reagan, support Romney. Reagan was a moderate governor of a liberal state who went on to become a conservative President.

Newt will lose, guaranteed.
