That happens a lot to Buckeyes. All you have to do is show them your nuts and they are awestruck!!Did you go from respect to complete and total awe? It's a natural reaction. I even get it out here in California.
Keep studying! And here I was, in class all day. My mistake.

Because, stupid, the "moderate indie voter" includes lots of democrats that are voting strategically against mitt romney because they know what a total failure santorum will be in the general. Romney being able to court independent voters isn't some pie in the sky assertion, it's on record, it's already happened. He won massachusetts in 2002. He just needs to get out of the mouth breather portion of the race before he can go back to being normal.
thread over.
Really? Because my idea of a "moderate indie voter" wouldn't include someone so obsessed as to do such a thing. If you are voting for Santorum so Obama has a weaker opponent in the fall, that seems more like something a partisan liberal might do. But you say these are the "moderate indies" that Mittens can appeal to in the fall? hmmm. Again, I posit the question.. why can't Romney appeal to them now?
I was saying that what you were classifying as "moderate indies" in your op, were anything but. There was a concentrated effort by santorum to get democrats to vote for him. Everyone knows santorum would fall flat on his face during the general, democrats wanted desperately for santorum to win.
I am more curious why people are not outraged at the media's attempt to undercut and deny Ron Paul's campaign. Did any of the media report the march in DC for Ron Paul? Anyone care to guess how many veterans were there? I didn't see it carried by any news organization.
Correction: There was a concentrated effort by Santorum to get DEMOCRAT VOTERS, to vote for him, I am sure he did not care whether they were Democrats, given that he explicitly targeted them, as did the Democratic party in Michigan. Again I pose the question, Why am I so stupid? And where is my evidence that Romney did not get independents? No matter, I'll just make shit up. Bottom line, Santorum actually made an appeal to the opposition for support and they responded...because they realize how awful a candidate against birth control will be in the general. Now, you can claim that it is because they wanted Santorum vs. Obama in the general, but supposedly it isn't going to matter, right? Pay no attention to my last question, it makes very little sense, comes out of no where, and assumes statements that have not been espoused anywhere. Obama has either one beat, according to Liberals, so why would a liberal be motivated to go to the trouble? I fail to understand basic things like why someone would want easier competition. Michigan is not exactly where you'd expect a social conservative mouth-breather to run a strong second to Romney, the prodigal son... but that looks to be exactly what happened. I think the script for Santorum isn't playing out like the establishment thought it would.I really don't want to accept the inevitable of Romney having way more money and organization, and being the candidate that 50% of republicans voted for based on electability today.
If Mittens is the one who can appeal to the moderates and indies, why isn't he doing it in Michigan?
I'm sure you are exactly right, and I also believe it is a bit disingenuous to ignore Santorum is potentially appealing to democrats who believe he has no chance against Obama, but those same people believe Obama can't be beat, even by Romney, so why is Santorum able to appeal to them? And doesn't this all fly in the face of conventional wisdom? If Mittens can't pull some "moderate/indie/dem" vote in his proverbial "home state," where the hell can he depend on these moderates and independents?
That's not entirely true Wacko. Hamtramick, MI has the highest concentration of Polaks in the US. That's kinda awesome, isn't it?
Probably because Michigan is a closed primary. Meaning that all registered independents cannot vote in it.
Ive been saying for 6 months now, its going to be Mittens v. President Obama.
I will be okay with the result as Mittens is 1000x's better than the Republicans last attempt at presidental, even though I perfer President Obama a bit more. If Satiorum.... were the nominee I would be very worried about the nation if the President were not reelected.
Really? THAT is what you have been saying for six months? You DO realize there is a search feature on this site right?
Other than a brief period where I thought that Perry would do better than he did, I have thought it would be Romney.
