NBC fires producer over edited Zimmerman 911 call

I read the Times article that said NBC investigated the incident and fired the producer responsible. That's enough for me. Also, I didn't say that there were separate rules of accountability. I said that the degree of accountability is proportional to income. I don't think that's a terribly controversial statement and your objection to it is just really weird.

Those two comments are contradictory. When you change the 'degree' of accountability based on 'income' (which is an absurd way to look at things) then you are saying there ARE separate rules of accountability.

Apparently, Dixie isn't the only one with a rise in his pants over the idea of a public flogging.

straw man... typical... nothing but ad hom and straw men from Dung.

I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility that the producer said it was an accident and NBC, not being omniscient like you and having no evidence to the contrary, just fired the producer without shipping him or her to GITMO for tor . . . enhanced interrogation to get the real truth.

Way to avoid answering the question. Do you honestly believe... that a tape can be edited 'accidentally' in such a manner? If you do, then you should indeed read what Cheadle had to say... because as he stated it is completely fabricated bullshit to call it an 'accident'. Either they edited the tape and never listened to the edited version prior to the Today show playing it or they specifically edited the tape to produce what they wanted it to say. Given that we know the tape was on their website several days prior to the Today show... I would say it is a pretty safe bet that someone at NBC listened to the edited version.

Your overly dramatic Gitmo crap is just yet another way you are trying to divert away from answering the question. Typical bullshit from Dung...

following someone is not against the law. this whole thing comes down to who made first contact, which is by far not a settled issue. also you are ridiculous. not even the most hardcore anti-zimmermans think this was a cold blooded 1st degree murder.

I think that people who view this as basically a lynching, which is how I view it, would agree with me.

Stalking someone while armed and then shooting them is murder. I have zero doubt he had intent to make sure this one didn't get a way with it. Away with what? Why, walking while black that's what. This guy is nothing but a sick cop wannabe, and I find it fascinating that people like STY who hate cops and will freak out any time one of them murders someone, has NO problem with any jackass annointing himself a cop and shooting someone in cold blood. If this had been a cop shooting, STY would be on here fighting like hell with Free. But because the murderer didn't have a badge, STY and Free are now on the same side. I mean, I think that's awesome. I love watching this shit. STY loves anyone who shoots anyone for any reason, as long as they aren't a cop.

Free just loves anyone who shoots anyone for any reason, especially if they are a cop (he is a wannabe badge blower himself), and even more so if the dead guy is black.

For me, I couldn't give a shit what any of the assholes here think. This guy murdered someone and walked because the dead kid was black. There is NO other reason they drug tested the victim but not the shooter, and no other reason they didn't do a criminal background check on the shooter. And only racists, whether conscious or unconscious (see?) believe otherwise.

darla, what I meant is that liberals are the type of people that cry over everything. They can't separate falsifiable evidence through their tears of perceived injustice. they don't think with their heads, only their hearts.

What you meant was that you, and many others here could give a shit that a 17 yo doesn't get to live. And you scoff at and feminize anyone who does care.

And I agree with you about that.

darla I have read your previous response a few posts back. This post is me acknowledging it's existence, but we will have to agree to disagree. I think you are a moonbat.

you win the retard of the week award for this post.

happy now?

Yes. Because I think you're really smart and I value your opinion.

By the way, anyone else find it ironic that SF is clamoring for the public outing of the NBC producer's identity and ACCOUNTABILITY NOW! based on the fact of the edit which totally must have been an intentional act because it happened while Yurt and Grind are cautioning that we ought not be too hasty in prejudging why George Zimmerman shot and killed that unarmed black kid.

Also Grind, under the Stand your ground law, which btw does not officially read "White Dudes Stand YOur Ground", sorry, Martin had every right to in fact, murder Zimmerman. Zimmerman was following him, Zimmerman was armed. There is no doubt Martin had a reasonable fear of danger. He had every right to stand his ground.

Interesting that none of you defenders of the Stand your ground law get that.

That's why I say you are all UNCONSCIOUSLY telling me that you view this law as the "White Dude Stand Your Ground Law"

I mean, if it weren't for the dead kid, it would be actually funny. None of you make any sense.

I wonder Dung, when people post crap from Jesse and Al... why do you not spout similar shit as above?

I don't really recall anyone posting anything from Jesse and Al. I only remember people complaining that Jesse and Al didn't say stuff that some folks thought that they had an OBLIGATION to say.

That's okay, you can call me moonbat darla, I know it's an affectionate nickname. I really prefer lefty firecracker, but whatever.

People are allowed to carry guns in america darla. Someone exercising their second amendment right isn't enough of a reason to fear for ones life. Secondly, what evidence do you have that trayvon knew the guy was carrying?

oh that's right.... no evidence at all.

You do understand the process of editing do you not?

Do you think they just magically push an 'edit' button and trust that the end result is what they intended?

Hilarious.

first off, i've said a few times that I could possibly buy martin using self defense. however, in doing so, you have to find some proof or evidence that martin know zimmerman was armed, in which case i'd have to declare martins death a suicide. if you're unarmed, you don't confront a gunman unless you have absolutely no where else to go.

the only reason you're not understanding anything is because you've made up your mind, regardless of any evidence, and your closed mindedness refuses to acknowledge anything else.

LOL... except that many of us have stated just that several times on this board.

what?

so you only care about this because the victim is black? you're an asshole.

Can you use your mind-reading powers to tell us all what George Zimmerman was thinking that night? You'd really be doing a service to America.

oh that's right.... no evidence at all.

Well, he's dead by Zimmerman's gunshot...I'm guessing that proves that some where along the way he found out Zimmerman was armed, ya know? Yeah, the bullet in him really clears that up Grind.

Why would you have to prove that? Is the stand your ground law only applicable between two armed people, or one armed and one unarmed persons?

No, it is not.

You'd only have to prove Martin felt reasonable danger. And in fact, his phone call with his gf proves that. Further, when they get finished proving that is Martin's voice screaming for help ( so far they have only had samples of Zimmerman's voice to compare it to and it ain't him, and you don't accept that, but more and more experts will be brought in, it ain't him screaming), then that will prove it beyond all reasonable doubt.
