The man died in 2004 but this could have been easily verified. If he was actually gay they would have said "romney beat up a gay kid half a century ago"

The NY times today said he later came out as gay. But what possible difference can that make? Several years ago an 11 yo boy came home after football prac tice and hanged himself. His teamates all called him gay. He never self-identified that way, and probably wasn't. Does that make it okay??? Yeah, when you have a homophobic society sometime straight people get hurt. Im sure Hitler gassed a few non-Jews by mistake too - so??? Romney belittled another student who was believed to be gay (and the belief is all that matters) by yelling out "atta girl" every time the kid talked. He bullied and assaulted kids he thought were gay. That's what matters.

Now, it was a long time ago. But what's interesting is from what is reported, Romney led the assault. The other guys who joined in were just as guilty, but it's interesting in that they all appear to have shown remorse, not just now, but throughout their lives. One of them ran into the victim years later and spoke to him. He apologized to him. And the vicitm was tormented by this because he told this man that yes, he had thought about that a lot. But the leader and instigator of the assault never expressed any remorse and when publically confronted about it pretended he didn't remember it and when nobody believed you could forget holding someone down while they scream, and assaulting them with a fucking scissors (a deadly weapon btw), he chuckled and called it a "prank".

Yeah, that's about character. And that's about his character yesterday. You know, Thursday, May 10th 2012.

Uh uh uh...it's not about gay rights. It's about strapping your dog onto the roof of your car, it's about announcing that you "enjoy" firing people, it's about assaulting and bullying gays.

In other words; it's about having no empathy. Being empty.

It's about being a sociopath.

And ole Mitt is going to have to deal with this. He won't be able to. Anyone who has been watching him can clearly see he has no idea how to react to these kinds of things. And there's a reason for that and it's not a good one. So expect a lot more stumbles. Empathy cannot be taught. If you don't have it you can only act it, but this filthy rich fucker never had to even do that.

So he's in trouble because your run of the mill sociopath next door had to act it. And eventually probably got pretty good at it. Romney has no time to get good at something he never had to do.

George Bush was known to be a bully and a "dick" throughout school and his entire youth.

And he sure changed when he grew up right?

This guy is W without the smirk and with a bit more going on upstairs, which probably makes him scarier. These kinds of stories will actually gain him support on the hard right because they love a "man" who will physically torture the weak. THey get off on that. In fact, they demand it.

So let's all quit the crying and stop pretending that this won't strongly appeal to a large part of this country. Because a large part of this country is made up of disturbed bullies.

A politician would have proclaimed to have remembered even when he didn't. Romney was at least honest in saying he didn't remember that specific event from almost 50 years ago.

yeah, they mocked the kid because he had long hair... while the guy came out of the closet later in life, it was not something any of the Obama campaigners mentioned. Romney picked on the kid because he had long hair... CA style long hair. In the midwest that still would have gotten you mocked in the 80's.

Personally, I remember stuff from pre-school with ease. Holding a guy down and cutting off his hair? Yeah - most people would remember that. That's a pretty strong incident.

And there is no way an incident like that could transpire in a playful, hijinxy way. Get a grip.
