Romney apologizes

You use logic when it comes to your animals and family, I will use emotions.

I don't leave my dog at a kennel either when I travel.

You equating riding in the back of a truck to riding on the roof of a car is not logical either.

If you don't see this as mistreatment of your pet, then there will be no changing your mind.

I just would not treat my dog this way. I know a great many people feel the same way.

Dogs die when you leave them to be taken care of by other people. No more dogs left to be taken care of by other people.

Ive seen dogs that enjoyed being in the back of trucks, As a kid I enjoyed riding in the back of trucks. There is a big difference between the back of a truck and the roof of a car, the wind is much worse on the roof.

I also cant imagine a dog or person enjoying riding in the back of a truck for an 8 hour road trip.

not if you are in a crate jarod...

But Damo's allowed to do that don't ya know!

He's allowed to take two entirely different sets of circumstances, state they are exactly the same despite the obvious differences and then use them to jump to the conclusion he would like.

then perhaps you can elaborate... what is the difference between back of truck and roof of car in a crate?

Alright...follow along so you won't get lost...the answer to this question comes from the "duh" file...

One is "the back of the truck"

The other is "the ROOF"

One is bowl shaped with a "protective rail" surrounding the truck bed...

...and the other is COMPLETELY EXPOSED to the elements.

One has the benefits of the truck cab deflecting the majority of the wind AWAY from the bed...

...the OTHER catches the full force of the 55+MPH wind.

How secure the dog is. Neither is safe in my opinion. Why do you think it is now illegal in many states to let children ride in the back of pick up trucks.

Like I said, you guys abuse your dogs as you wish, I just would not treat my friend that way!

Thanks, it is still more exposure than my dog would like.

Have you ever seen a dog crate? Based on the above, it would not appear to be so.

A crate has a roof, the truck bed does not. Thus the exposure is actually reduced in the crate.

There is no difference to having the dog crate secured on the roof vs. the dog free in the bed of a truck. The dog cannot jump out or get bounced out of the crate. While unlikely, it could happen to a dog in the back of a truck.

Again, you, like the others are simply projecting your emotions on to the dog because you wish to make Romney 'look bad'.

You can torture your dogs all you like, mine have always enjoyed freedom. Like a good liberal, your wish is to make the dog you toy. You could care less about the dog actually enjoying its life.

Alaskans must respect their dogs more than other states because you can not transport your animals on the roof of your car, it is illegal.

http://www.aspca.org/Blog/cruelty-alert-dogs-in-pickup-trucks

Transporting animals in the back of a truck is against the law.

From your own article:

"Transporting unrestrained dogs in low-sided truck beds has been banned in a handful of states, including California and New Hampshire, and municipalities including Indianapolis, Cheyenne and Miami-Dade."

So, is it illegal in New York, Oregon, Nevada, Nebraska, Texas, Ohio, etc?

In a couple of freedom hating places it is illegal. Despite the proclamations on that site, most dogs have the common sense not to jump out of a moving vehicle. But thanks for again displaying the fact that the common practice of transporting dogs in pickups is more dangerous than what Romney did. Albeit not that much difference.

That's not what it says.
It says that you're not allowed to TIE your dog to the top of your car.
Two different things.

Nope, they are both dangerous and should not be done.

And you ignore the obvious inconsistencies in Romney's story just so you don't have to admit the story makes your candidate looks bad.

I have to admit I really don't like dogs. They smell, take up room, and do not have control over their scatological impulses. Kinda like men.

However, I would never be cruel to one. I would never own another one though. We had one when I was a kid. We had to put her to sleep. She was a really good dog, and I never wanted another one.
