Greeks and Hebrews of the ancient world did not generally have last names or surnames. They were most commonly identified by the town they came from: Jesus of Nazareth, Mary of Magdala, Saul of Taurus.
Latinized versions of names does not prove their names did not have Greek or Aramaic equivalents. Saul of Taurus is what Paul would have been called in the Eastern Mediterranean. Jesus would have been known as Yeshua in Galilee.
