At this point in the American Revolution, the British occupied our major cities, and could move anywhere in the countryside they wanted at a cost. The Russians have had nowhere near that success.
When the French joined on our side, the British gave up Philadelphia, but kept cities like New York, Charleston, and Savanah until the end of the war. They handed those back in the peace process.
The British kept Canada, and bases west of Appalachia. Even today, the majority of what the Americans claimed is not captured.

Both the US and Ukraine kept fighting, and drained the enemy. The American Army lost in the field, and then lost their capital, but did not stop fighting. The Ukrainians did not lose their capital, but also did not stop fighting.
France actually went to war for America. We have done nothing of the like.
And yet we surrendered a large amount of territory to the English?
trump has chickened out so often, I doubt Putin takes him seriously.

Did I say Ukraine should stop fighting? Nope.
They said they will. They don't have enough people to defeat Russia because Russia has a much larger population and is willing to sacrifice as many as it takes to win.
They have enough if we cripple Russia with sanctions.
Sanctions have been useless, and will almost certainly continue to be useless.
