LAS VEGAS (AP) - A backpack exploded in a parking garage attached to a Las Vegas hotel early Monday, killing a man who had picked it up and injuring another person, authorities said.

The man had removed the backpack from atop his car when it exploded shortly after 4 a.m. on the second floor of a parking behind the Luxor hotel-casino, said Officer Bill Cassell, a police spokesman.

The second person was taken to an area hospital.

Aerial video showed no apparent damage to the parking structure, where entrances were blocked while police, firefighters and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents investigated. No further information was immediately available.

The Luxor is a pyramid-shaped hotel at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.

This is of course not a terrorist act since they cannot happen under Bush's watch :rolleyes:
 
Huh. Maybe he had a Dell laptop in there. There was a battery recall recently because they might explode or catch fire or something.

If it was a terrorist thing, what a f-up this guy is huh? He blew himself up in a parking lot. duh.
 
Could be Darla. I once suspected Fords were built by terrorists because they blew up fairly often ;)

There is not yet enough information to decide, I assumed it was not his backpack. Perhaps he was on his way to an abortion clinic with his backpack.
Or maybe he had Menthos and diet coke in there....
