Gives the saying 'he only had an 8th grade education' a whole new meaning, doesn't it?!

salina kansas, the birthplace of the collective rights theory concerning the 2nd Amendment. so much for that education.
Of course.....Children, as a group, should not have "collective rights"...
and how about the handicapped, they should not have "collective rights" as a group....right, STY?

And what, you think the "collective rights" theory started in Salina 100 years ago?...so much for your education.

You're missing the whole point of the post.

Where do you get this stuff?

8th grade in my area is incredibly demanding. Kids do an average of 2 hours of homework a night, and learn much more advanced concepts at their age now than what 8th graders were taught 20 years ago.

i'm not missing the point of your post, i get it. and yes, the collective rights theory of the 2nd Amendment, meaning that the second amendment only meant rights to keep and bear arms for state militia members, started in 1905 with this case: CITY OF SALINA v. BLAKSLEY

and its influence on our country.

I hear you man. I was writing composition and took algebra in the 8th grade. Those math problems would be 5th grade level by today's standards.

I don't doubt you a bit...I'll bet 2nd and 3rd, etc. grades were demanding for you too....a pity you didn't experience high school...:palm:

Dude, I'll take you on in any grammar/math/science challenge - anytime, anywhere.

In the meantime, do some searching on current 8th grade curriculums on the ol' internets; there are plenty of sites out there. You probably have no idea what is currently taught & required of students at that level.

These are ridiculous, vague, and awful questions.

All of these besides no. 1 are calculator questions. Who cares? Do you want our kids rote memorizing a multiplication algorithm or moving on to algebra?

How do you solve a third order differential equation?

Can you give me the circuit of a counter that goes from 1-6? What about a comparator to compare the output of a 4-bit adder and the what is currently stored in a register?

What is the 35th element?

None of that existed in the 1800's. The only really important scientific theories were evolution and Newton's laws, and they refused to teach evolution.

Oh, I'm sure you're an expert on "Dolly has Two Mommies" and "Billy has Two Daddies"...How to take it in the anus, (it being perfectly normal behavior you know) and How cow farts are bringing the world to an end (global warming, you know) Or how about abortion is just ridding you body of useless cells....and don't forget the #1 topic of school curriculum today, Tolerance and Diversity, (except for Conservatives and Republicans, and all those that think differently than liberals)...The founding fathers were nothing but slave owners....Columbus was a slave trader.....etc., etc.

sonny, you couldn't explain positive logic, negative buss, or an AND gate from a NOR or OR gate, etc....or a diode from a emitter or collector, or hole flow from electron flow....

You remind me of my grandkids when we were talking about history....they said its much harder now because there is more it now than when I was in school.....is that your view too?......Really ?

A negative buss huh?
