$100K to forgo college

This would be a great option for many people, just as college is a decent option for many. These guys aren't saying that college is worthless, just that the rate of return has become less than the money you spend for the education. People who agree and have the will can apply for these private grants (or are they loans?), I don't see how this has anything to do with socialism (an answer to the foolish post that cawacko provided).

(BTW - I tried to move the posts that were solely about trolls or trolling to another thread in the War Zone. If you want to continue the discussion about trolling go there.)

this is a great opportunity for the recipients. even if their ventures don't amount to much, if they decide to go to college after the two years, this will look impressive on their college app and when they graduate, they already have real world experience and are a step ahead of 95% of college grads.

Facts are facts, 2.5MM more for a career for those with the moxy to get it done.
I'm not sure why pussies roll out the no guarantee!!! what in life is guaranteed besides death n taxes.
On average 2.5MM lot's make more, lots make less.
I made a lot more.

No one is saying college is bad or a waste of time. But there should be other options. Hell, there should be other options at the high school level.

And, as I have said before, its not all about the money. Making money is a requirement for having a decent life, but there is also a lot to be said about job satisfaction and doing something you enjoy doing or get something from besides a paycheck. I know some VERY happy people who will never have a 6 figure income. They love what they do.
