2 Million Have Realized A Tax Cut Already!!!

uh, Onceler.....there was no tax cut for everyone earning $200k a year or less, they merely revised the withholding tables....they take less out of your paycheck each week but your refund check next spring will be smaller....you pay the same amount in taxes.....

now maybe if you're a first time home buyer and you qualify for the tax credit....then your in luck.....or if you "go green" and remodel your house.....but no, no general tax cut....

Uh...Postmodern? There are $282 billion in tax cuts. It's not $700 billion in spending.

I go & do all that research for you, and all you can do is try to spin out of it? No small admission of error? No shame?

Doesn't matter. You were wrong, as are your cohorts. You are just another in a long line today who had no awareness at all that Obama has actually cut taxes, because you get all your information from the usual suspects on the right...

The stimulus does cut income taxes for a small number of taxpayers who make between $50-200k, but most of those people are paying little or no federal income tax already, so the actual amount doesn't really amount to a whole lot. I think I read, it will mean an extra $17 a week to the average benefactor. As Prissy points out, these people have to pay gas tax, cigarette tax, property tax, school tax, municipal tax, energy tax, utility tax, excise tax, ad valorem tax, and soon they will also be paying tax for carbon offsets and health care benefits. All of these taxes have increased under Obama, and some of them have more than doubled, with the addition of taxes that were not even being paid before... they've created new ones for us to pay! Are you not comprehending this, bozo? When all is said and done, that piddly $17 you got from this SPENDulus bill, doesn't amount to squat! For you to be here boasting of how this is some great monumental thing, is laughable beyond belief, and only left-wing koolaid-drenched fools are buying it! Bottom Line: EVERY American is going to be paying out the ever-loving ass! With the possible exception of those who are a.) in Congress, or b.) Totally dependent on government welfare. Every true WORKING American will be paying MORE in taxes.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood the stimulus plan....if you think you got a tax cut, you're fucked.....because you didn't.....there may be $282 billion in cuts but you're not getting any of it.....

You guys have such a hard time admitting when you're wrong.

It's okay; you don't have to come out w/ it. It can be left unsaid...

I'm serious......they didn't cut taxes, they reduced withholdings, your tax bill will be exactly the same as it was before, it's just that you are getting a small part of next year's refund each week in the form of reduced withholdings now.....I'm sorry if you thought you were getting a tax cut, but it simply isn't true.....

Obama is redefining the meaning of a tax cut. Clever, huh? In the Democrats lexicon, a tax cut includes tens of billions of government handouts that are disguised by the phrase "tax credits.".......and on and on and on.

They are proposing to create or expand no fewer than seven such credits for individuals.

Didn't read about the rebates, eh?

Since your entire knowledge of the fact that the stimulus even had tax cuts came over the course of the last dozen or so posts, this is hardly surprising.

Read some more, then get back to me.

I can get back to you right now.....there simply is no general tax cut for persons earning under $200k.....you claimed it was in the stimulus bill, I denied knowledge of it.....thus, "my entire knowledge" has proven correct and yours hasn't......what more would you like to know about it?.....

I think there was a liberal around here who admitted to having an accounting degree....perhaps you could get him to explain it to you.....I know you don't want to hear it from me, since I'm only a conservative......

(obvious why liberals voted for Obama, they know jack shit about economics)

You stated - just about a dozen posts ago, and with real conviction - that you thought the stimulus was just $700 billion in spending. You were completely ignorant of any tax cuts, much less the fact that the 2-year, $282 billion cut was the largest federal 2-year cut in history.

As I said, I don't really expect you to admit you were wrong.

the preacher didn't know about the tax cut, but also as an ambulance chaser he has a duty to at least try to act like a pompus ass.
But telling someone taking less out of his check (whithholding tables) is not a tax cut. why, because his refund won't be bigger. BHAHAHAHAH

:(

That's terrible Caw. How are things going? Are there any promising jobs waiting for you right now?

It's all good but thanks. The investment real estate market is still really slow right now. I've gone to a couple of interviews but find myself competing with mutliple people with Ivy League MBA's etc. and I'm like F Me! Something will come up but its just really slow right now.

I don't watch Hannity, read the S.F. Chronicle and L.A. Times everyday and the WSJ a few times week and I'm not familiar with any rebates (or haven't seen one) or lower tax brackets (which being unemployed I guess I wouldn't know because I'm not in them) and I was making under $200k so I'm his target group. Now granted I'm an idiot so it explains part of why I don't know but I'm also not hiding my head in a hole either.

the same is true of the so called business tax "cuts".....all they did was accelerate depreciation so folks could write off some of their 2010 deductions in 2009....didn't actually reduce the total taxes paid in 2009/2010, but they call them "cuts" anyway......

this may be complicated for a liberal, but let's try some basic math.....if your tax refund next April would normally be $1200, and they deduct $16 less per week from your withholdings (so you can have a massive $16 tax "cut" each week) and your W2 shows you've only paid in $368 how much is your refund going to be?.......how much have your taxes been "cut"?.......{hint: they didn't change the tax RATE, they only changed the withholding tables}......
