WOW!!!!! We really needed this law. There hasn't been a lynching in the US in 40 years. Murder is already a capitol crime so now we have lynching as a hate crime. Does that mean we execute the perps twice? Once for murder and a second time for hate crime?
 
Well, an overwhelming number of House members disagree and passed the bill. Now, let's see if Czartrump is dumb enough to veto it.......) Assuming of course that the Senate wont block "hate crime" legislation in an election year.

I consider being a liberal Democrat a hate crime against the constitution. Maybe we need hate crime legislation targeting liberals. LOL
 
I agree with passing this bill. Hopefully we make progress when someone sponsors a bill making slavery illegal .

Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., who introduced the bill in January 2019, said the measure finally outlaws “an American evil.”

I thought murder had already been outlawed?


Between 1882 and 1962, 3,446 Black people were lynched in the U.S., according to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

I guess the NAACP, a racist organization, didn't think it worth mentioning that 1,297 whites were lynching during that same time period. Does that mean they believe the whites deserved it or that only black lives matter.?

The last three, which occurred in the 1980s occurred in New York City.

Does it make it a hate crime if a white is lynched or does it only apply when the victim is black?

Let's add Conservative "fake" Christian's to the list as well. That should encompass about 99% of the current "Trumpublican" party.

Who are you to determine who is a Christian or not? That is between the person and his/her maker. I say and do a lot of things that to some may call not Christian like, but as I said that is between me and my maker.
