5 Things That Piss Me Off About People Who've Never Known What It's Like to be Poor

More protection on your part. I don't care what people but with their money. Just don't turn around and cry poverty.

Not surprising that the simple concept is lost on you.

I am jealous of nobody. You never hear me cry that someone has too much an it isn't fair. That is you and your ilk. Nice try at deflection though

When did the youth on the corner cry poverty?

You can pretend you aren't jealous of others, but the facts say otherwise. You made some ridiculous assumptions about the boy with the headphones and they showcase the petty stereotypes that govern your thinking processes.

I'll admit I'm not following on this one. What does seeing a kid (who I'm assuming we know nothing about) with the items you mentioned tell us about poverty in America or the lack there of?

It tells us when someone like ILA sees a young man with the aforementioned items, he automatically assumes the boy got them by spending his welfare check.

Those are not inexpensive items. One can buy $9 ear buds, $7 sneakers etc.

I don't care what they buy with their own money. Just don't tell me that there is all if this rampant poverty if people can afford that shit.

So because one boy on one corner owned those items, that means there is no poverty...understood.

ROTFLMAO!

I bet it had more to do with the black on his skin.

That's been my guess. I was waiting for him to offer an explanation but I think he now realizes that he stepped in it and has been avoiding it. Either the kid was not poor or he was and spent his money poorly to avoid the image of poverty. It's not possible one could tell that by seeing them on the street but if you commonly make assumptions based on racist stereotypes you might draw such a conclusion without giving it much thought.

Re: 5 Things That Piss Me Off About People Who've Never Known What It's Like to be

I doubt the story is even about any actual person but rather it's a racist stereotype formed by cultural inputs and reinforced anytime the bigot saw anyone remotely fitting the image.

You made lots of assumptions based on things I never even said.

I didn't say he was on welfare. I just pointed out he had lots of expensive stuff that are not essential to living. so it is hard to believe there is all of this poverty you people rant about.

Then leave your comfortable neighbourhood and go to the poor side of town. You will see plenty of poverty in this country.

I was driving through the poor side of town when I saw the aforementioned individual. Notice I never mentioned race, but the racist liberals went right there. So predictable

There is no poverty in this country relative to the rest of the world

Yeah right. And how do you know he wasn't just passing through the "poor side of town" just like you?
